Diarrhea and sick @ 38 weeks.

I have had a cough for over a week  now to start off. The past few days I have had major diarrhea and last night ended up throwing up all over myself right before another round of diarrhea. I am having cramping in my stomach and a tightness in my belly. I am 38 weeks and the doctor still hasn't checked to see if I'm dilated or if baby is head down or anything, which I always imagined they would by now. I don't know if it is the flu or if it is worse and I don't know what to do. I have told them about me being sick and they gave me a mask and said they feel sorry for me. The only reason I am a little freaked is because my mom and a few other mothers told me they thought they had the flu with their pregnancy and they ended up being in labor 2 weeks early. Am I just being paranoid or is sickness like this normal?

  • I have heard many people say they get sick like that right before labor.

  • They day diarrhea can be an early sign of labor. Your body empties the bowel before birth. But I don't know about the other symptoms. Maybe get a 2nd opinion?
  • I think you're just sick. It sucks. Stay as hydrated as you can and rest. If it is a sign that you're going into labor soon, then you'll, you know, go into labor. Nothing you can do but wait it out, rest up, and see what happens.
