  • I've been scolded NOT to go crazy cleaning the house and doing the 3 flights of stairs in our house. We have showings to sell our house, so it has to be clean.

Our cleaning lady just didn't show up yesterday. Just didn't show up and never called. Had to call her 3 times in the afternoon and text her. AND I had gotten an auto confirmation by email.

I'm annoyed bc as soon as hubby gets home, he's gonna scold me for dusting the cabinets, living room furniture, mopping the bathroom floor, cleaning some of the toilets, and cleaning out the refrigerator.

I REALLY enjoyed myself cleaning, since I'm nesting like crazy, but I know we need the professional (speedy) help since I'm not supposed to be overtaxing myself and hubby is gone.

But what else am I supposed to do when the lady doesn't even show up this week??
  • @mellymar sorry to hear this. Distant parents are tough. I haven't seen my dad since November and we talk occasionally but even up until two weeks ago he asked me if we knew the sex of the baby. Which I told him months ago. I waffle between wishing he was more involved and being glad he's not trying to pretend he's something that he's not.
  • I hate the dentist. I think I lost like a pint of blood just from a cleaning. And I find out they most likely did a root canal on the wrong tooth. So that was $1,000 down the drain.

DS figured out that there is nothing stopping him from leaving his room if he wakes up in the middle of the night. I shouldn't complain since it took him 6 mo in his toddler bed to realize it, but I had a 2 year old in my room at 4:30am and it took an hour to get him back into bed. Sleep is already hard enough, I don't need him backsliding!
  • I'm so annoyed at work. I work for an organization that helps senior citizens and disabled individuals get in home support services to prevent nursing home placement. Most of the services we offer have extremely long waiting list due to funding issues. One particular program is medicaid funded and has been frozen since mid-February meaning that no one is being admitted and those already receiving services can't get additional services. When people are on waiting lists we have to contact them every 3-6 months to update their information in order to keep them active. I have lists of people to call and apparently one just called and spoke to my coworker and was crying and yelling and then hung up on her when she told her about the freeze. Now I'm going to have to call her to update her information and I know she's going to chew me out and I don't feel like dealing with it. I understand that people need help but I just get irritated because they don't understand that I'm not trying to keep them from getting help and it's beyond my control. I would get everyone help today if I could.
  • I have a habit of sitting with one foot tucked under me. I did it all through dinner yesterday and ended up squishing all my swelling to the front part of my foot. It looked like a water balloon with toes poking off it. X_X
  • Sooo I bought 3 dresses online from old navy for my shower, my sisters bridal shower and a wedding we have. Two of them are maxi dresses I tried them on and they are super cute but the maxi ones aren't quite long enough and it bugs me. One just hits the top of my feet and the other hits my ankles. Now Idk if I should just wear them or get something else. Blah the problems with being tall
  • Husband came back from Africa with a stomach bug or food poisoning and low fever.

He's layed up in the "sick room" I made for him, and I won't let him touch anything.

    Poor guy. :-(
  • @SammeMotley I am so sorry you are going through this. It is so hard to loose a pet. My thoughts and prayers are with you as navigate the grief. I hope one day you will be able to welcome another pet into your heart. You sound like a wonderfully caring pet owner.
  • @lovethatcolosun thank you. I was very attached to him. He was extremely protective of me as well. I'm a SAHM so we spent almost every second of the day together. He would even follow me to the bathroom almost as if he was checking it out for me. He was a black lab, and for only being two years old, he was extremely well mannered. I house broke him in two days. Never chewed anything and only jumped on furniture when invited. He was so sweet and I miss him so much. Maybe one day I could have another dog, but I just don't think any other could compare to the relationship I had with him.

Oh this is so sad. I'm so sorry, dear.
  • @Mommaswizz I was curious, now I'm horrified. pregnant hulk was more than I imagined. =))

Can I just say that as a common lurker, you ladies make my day?

Wow what an uneducated bat... Ugh I feel disgusted reading her post... It can't be real...
  • Now I feel left out. I guess it was one I didn't read. Some of them I just can't bring myself to open, but now I'm genuinely curious.
  • @karaelaine1991 I completely understand. I'm only a 90 min drive away (they're in Long Island and I'm in jersey) but it still breaks my heart when I can't just pop in to get a hug or to vent to my mom. DH is great but it's nothing like a chat with a family member
