Under weight baby

I Went to the doctor to day and he told me that my baby was too small for me to be 34 weeks& 5 days ! He's 3lbs 14oz I'm scared this is my first baby and I don't know what I'm doing wrong I'm eating, drinking lots of water & gaining weight but my baby is not !

Same thing here! I'm 33 weeks, FTM and baby is only 3.7 and hasn't grown actually in a few weeks. I'm now doing weekly ultrasounds and being referred to a specialist. Baby is relatively fine though. She's breathing really well, moving great, heart looks good and amniotic fluid is good too. Try not to stress yourself out! They said my situation could be genetic or the placenta could just not being giving enough nutrients. It isn't anyone's fault at all. Everything will be ok! Also ultrasounds aren't exactly accurate all the time either.
I know my doctor did say if worse case they would induce earlier since baby can gain more outside of the womb better sometimes.
Just talk with your doctor they'll be keeping a good eye on you and baby. You'll be in good hands.

Are you seeing a specialist or getting the steroid shot for the baby's lung development? Doing those 2 things really helped me feel more relief about having my babies early. I was referred to one when one of my twins was thought to be much smaller, turns out she was just really smushed in there. Good luck and keep us updated! Just think your baby can gain .5-1 pound a week here on out! Sending you good vibes!

I am 36 & 5 days and my baby weighs 4lbs 14 ounces as of Monday- same as he weighed last week. Last weeks ultra sound was the first I've heard of him being small, I go back today to see ... I'm so anxious and hope everything is ok

Im 33 weeks pregnant but my baby on ultrasound showed 31 weeks i m woried doctor advice doppler ultrasound now i m eating more and having milk hope after one week she ll put on some weight

I'm at 33 weeks and on last weeks growth ultrasound my peanut was measuring in the less than 5th percentile. My doctor has us scheduled for a cord Doppler and biophysical profile next week and another growth ultrasound in another three just to monitor. In the mean time she said to just keep on doing what we've been doing. The baby is still moving well and that's the important part. No use getting worried until there is really something to worry about. My advice; do not head to google and start reading. It will cause unnecessary stress.

just throwing this out there as my experience...since i have GD I got an ultrasound for growth at 36 weeks with DS1 and this baby too. With DS1 they predicted he would be between 7.5 and 8 lb at birth...I looked at them like they had three heads, and told them no he won't be...he was 6 lb 13 oz and I had him 1 day before his due date. they told me with this one that he is currently estimated at 6 lb 1 oz, but his head is measuring large so that is throwing things off...I don't expect DS2 to be much if any bigger than DS1...just know that the machines can only measure to a certain degree of accuracy and try not to stress out too much.

At my last ultrasound (I was 32 weeks) the baby was measuring 30 weeks and was in the 32 percentile. I'm not sure what he was in weight, but that was my second growth scan. I'm now 36wks, and they haven't done another ultrasound. They said since my last one the baby was more in rythm with my current EDD (June 11th, but being induced June 4th) that they were keeping my dates the same. My doctor did say she expects him to be on the smaller side, but I'm not sure how small. My babies birth weights range from 8lbs 1oz to 6lbs. We shall see! I did pick up some preemie sleepers to take to the hospital just to be on the safe side along with takin some newborn things. My 6lb baby wore preemie clothes for what seemed like an eternity. She's now 9, and wears a 5t.
