I went in for an NST - I am 40w5days. LO showed a heart deceleration so doc sent me over to the hospital. Now I'm hooked up for "long term monitoring" (3-4 hours).

If all is fine, they may send me home. If all isn't fine, they will induce. My cervix hasn't made any progress towards being ready. I'm super ready to see my LO, but not looking forward to induction and left my hospital bag at home

Thanks all. So after a report of "there's nothing bad... But nothing great" of my NST, and since I'm 5 days over, they decided to induce me. Gave me cervidil at 7pm. It felt like getting my cervix checked.

Since then just monitoring, definitely getting contractions but not in a pattern (sometimes 10mins apart, sometimes right on top of each other). Not super painful yet.

I'm hooked up to fluid, have had my blood drawn AND when I peed, there was a bit of mucus. I was going to snapshot it for you but didn't have m phone! Bummer!

My hope is to get some sleep now, and wake up when the cervidil (12 hour release) is ending to see what progress we have made.

Hospital food is pretty good, or it was when I was still allowed to eat it

Oh! And there are a ton of posts about what the U.S. Measurement in and how that informs delivery decisions - so for fun, my US TODAY said she is 8lbs3oz. I guess we will soon see

Started having some constant and quite painful contractions - they checked and my cervix hadn't don't anything so they gave me a sleeping aid in mah butt and some demerole. I got 2 really great hours but then the demerole either wore off or contractions increased in intensity. So now I'm awake and waiting... What comes next -- more Demerol? Cervix check? Baby? Only time will tell

I know some have been worried about Doing this alone... I've had about 5 nurses so far with shifts changing and other patients need and one is nicer and more supportive than the next. So trust that you'll be in good hands, even if you're "alone"

Good luck lady!! I'm glad you have good nurses. Even with my hubby there with me, it was a godsend to have my nurses since they understood my needs a little better than he did.
