Pet's interest in baby's things

My babies seem to be very interested in the baby's things and often sleep in the nursery during the day. Here's a picture of my poodle who just jumped in the bouncy chair. Do you have any cute pictures to share?

Re: Pet's interest in baby's things

  • Omg that's so cute, my dogs not allowed in the babies room as all he wants is her teddies, but we have the swing set up in the front room which they lie next to

:) my MIL is (jokingly, I think) giving me flack about allowing her in there- saying we don't want hair or dander on her things. My husband was like "she's hypoallergenic!"
  • This is exactly why I have yet to set up our baby swing. My dog would sniff it and lick it while our cat would think it's a loving place to take a nap. Still have 13 days till my due date....we'll set it up after she's born.
  • I moved our hospital bag and diaper bag into the baby room next to our stroller and car seat this week. I looked down a few minutes later to find my kitten jumping into the basket of our stroller as if to say "don't forget me too". I didn't think to take a picture but it was pretty cute.

Every new toy/gift that we bring home she sniffs and gives us a look of "you've got to be kidding me..." We will see how she reacts to not being the baby of the family anymore.
  • Omg Louie is so funny and cute! I am cracking up.

Ben looks like such a sweetie.

I can't wait until my dogs meet the baby. I'm getting impatient
  • Omg these are so cute I can't handle it! My cats couldn't care less about all the new baby stuff past the occasional sniff. I kinda want to stuff one of them in a onesie and play pretend baby now but DH would kill me!
  • I have two cats. The one pictured is a female and absolutely loves being close to my bump. And in contrast, my male cat peed in the bottom basket of the baby's bassinet a couple weeks ago. This is going to be a huge adjustment for all of us. *sigh*
  • My dog loves to get under the crib with his head sticking out, just laying there. Sometimes I keep baby's room door open and when I can't find my dog, I'll look in baby room and there he is looking at me from under his crib. I hope she's going to be protective over her brother, but not rough with him...I'm soo scared how its going to be when baby comes home and meets my dog, its going to be interesting.
  • This is my son and Pitbull hanging out
  • My cats hate it so much. They've gotten so used to the way things were and the way things were set up they won't come near anything since we've rearranged to accommodate baby. I feel like a terrible fur mama to these babies.
  • My pets only go in the nursery when I'm working on there. But my mom is staying in there right now so they don't go in there.

My dog sniffs everything and is interested but not really sure what's up. She really wants babies Gabin the bear (like Sofie the giraffe).

And the cat is just a cat. We don't have the stroller or anything out for her to crawl in so she doesn't get hair everywhere because she's crazy.

My two cats love the basinet! So I made a little bit of a compromise, I let them lay in the bottom part but shoo them out when they lay in the actual basinet part. One thing you could try would be to lay aluminum foil in it while you wait for your bundle to arrive.

When I've been coming out of the washroom the last few mornings I've been finding my dog in the kid's room, often just sitting on the rug looking at me. It wasn't a room we spent any time in before...

  • My pups love standing guard of the crib, can't imagine what it'll be like when baby boy is in there!
  • My kitty discovered the stroller basket
  • I loved seeing all the pictures :) makes me happy
  • You ladies have the cutest furry babies! Love love love it!

We have three cats, but we don't allow them to be in the baby's stuff. They definitely would be, though. We just want our son to get to use his stuff before his feline brothers claim it. lol. But they are all attached to me and my bump! They are going to be great big brothers. We can't wait to introduce them!
