We haven't had one of these in a while. What sounds good this week?
For me it's sugar, covered in sweetness with a side of caramel. Seriously anything sweet sounds divine. I had fresh strawberries and vanilla bean ice cream today and I was in heaven.
I feel like I'm less passionate about food these days...and I love food - pregnant or not!! For awhile everything tastes delicious! I could have peanut butter on toast and it would be the best thing I've ever eaten. I'm still partial to sweets but I don't have the random or intense cravings anymore.
i gotta have my cupcakes...with butterwhipped frosting! yumm! im waiting to check my blood sugar so i can treat myself before i go to bed. dang GD slows me down haha
I'm craving chewing ice..... And I know it's because I need more iron. It's like an obsession. I am craving sweets but reflux........ ! Most nights I eat popcorn for dinner because it doesn't cause heartburn !
It's weird, I was hungry all the time in second trimester and craved milk and pickles. Now I am never hungry, even though my body says "you are hungry" and no cravings. DH basically guilts me into eating. I'm guessing because it feels like I have no more space in me. I miss second trimester!
I haven't really been craving anything, exactly, but I've been eating a TON of smoothies lately. It's partially because they're delicious, but it's also because it's been so hot and I feel way less guilty about eating them than I do about eating ice cream haha
Same here!! I'm at the point where I have to make myself eat and I never know what I want bc the cravings are gone. I'm a huge foodie and right food is just "eh" to me.
Like some PP have said, I'm just not hungry anymore. I feel like I need to break out the funnel all of the time just so that I'm not starving LO and I, but I just have no appetite. It's like nothing sounds good at all. I was having a chicken nuggets kick for a while there, but I think that was more of a not wanting to cook thing. I do indulge in popsicles and smoothies though, but I think that's because I hate being hot all of the time. Between the desert heat and these random hot flashes I feel like I'm on fire half of the time.
I've also lost my appetite some. Cravings have kind of gone by the wayside a bit, too. Burgers with pepperjack cheese remain something I'm always down for. And I've been wanting Chipotle for a ways now, but the nearest one is an hour and half away, so that's not happening. Also, the intensity of my desire for a nice hoppy beer is ramping up, bad. Every time my hubs has a beer I have to hold it and smell it. I also asked my coworker at my work party yesterday who was drinking an IPA if I could smell his beer. Probably the strangest request he's gotten in a ways, but he let me, and sympathized.
Lime popsicles, watermelon, cantaloupe. Want to drink fluids but am picky about plain water...can't stand tap water anymore and only some bottled waters are good. Sparkling water tastes good. For food I still really crave protein with everything. Burritos are my favorite. Lots of meat, cheese, beans, and sour cream. I'll take anything meaty on the plate and leave the carbs. It's been this way for awhile. My biggest aversion is cupcakes.
Specifically, a chocolate glazed donut. And smoothies.
Since I have GD, I'm avoiding these things. Before the GD diagnosis, I would've had 1 donut and been over it, but since I "can't" have it, I want it even more.

Haha I've been sniffing my hubby's beers too... And occasionally tasting! I'd say the craving is ramping up. I already decided what my first beer will be post delivery. Yum!
Dying for an ice cold beer. Absolutely DYING. Demanded beer brats the other day and forced my fiance to slam the remaining second half of the beer because i couldnt stop thinking about how i was going to get my hands on it . haha.
This week i craved vanilla pudding. Delicious other than that it's the usual litany of sugary items: slurpees, ice pops, ralph's ices, and raisinets. I'd just about kill for a frozen margarita with salt so im counting down the days till that can happen. We FINALLy moved the top layer of our wedding cake from my parents freezer to ours and I'm seriously tempted to rip through that but im withholding till July when i'm allowed. Should never have cake in the house that a pregnant lady cant eat
I could eat almond butter all day everyday right now. I'm slightly worried that I'm creating an allergy but not worried enough to stop myself from eating it. Also anything sweet.

ETA: worried about allergy for my LO, not myself.
Go for it. New studies say exposing the kid to nuts in the womb reduces risk of allergies. It's your motherly obligation to indulge!
Dole frozen dark chocolate covered bananas & strawberries! Also, still love peanut butter & apples, and today I'm craving a blt. My appetite has gone down significantly these last few weeks!

I know it's normal to lose weight in the last few weeks but I am definitely gaining more than ever. Bring it on.
