DH and I have always liked Nicole for a girl. I also like Audrey and Sophie.
Boys are tough for us to agree on. I like Oliver and Coleman. DH thinks boys and girls names need to sound appropriate if LO ever gets elected for office.
Oh my gosh I thought I had some good names in mind but after reading all of these I'm not so sure!
Girl names that I like: Rain (Rainy), Emina, Mira..
SO is dead set on Emma%-( As much as I know that name is way over done, I can't help but be happy that he has a name picked out without even thinking twice. So unless I convince him otherwise, a girl will be Emma Renee (My moms middle name.)
The only boy name I have picked out is Lennon. SO is no help with boy names.
Funny because I want a girl first and he wants a boy first and we have opposite names picked already!
Go listen to "Rainy Girl" by Andrew Mcmahon. It will make you love that song even more. It's about when his wife was pregs with his baby girl.
I'm loving this thread! I haven't really seen any names that have been too outrageous. Plus it hasn't turned into an argument/bashing thread so props tho the maturity level of this amazing group!
I've always had my heart set on Marissa Lynn for a girl but my fiance vetoed Lynn because he said it sounded too country (he's thinking Loretta Lynn) so I compromised and now we're going with Marissa Mae. For a boy we decided on Vincent Cornelius. He has Italian blood and I have Irish so we picked a name from each. Don't know what we'll do if we end up with twins tho (they run in my family) we had a tough time agreeing on ONE boy name.
I LOVE baby names! Right now our boy name is set at Luke Michael but we aren't sure about a girl. My mind changes all the time. Currently, the front runners are Sofia Jane, Margeret Jane or Charlotte Jane.
Anyone have a suggestion of WTF to do with the name Douglas? It's my FIL's name & DH wants to use it as a middle name. I'd love to use my late grandfather's name Charles... Charles Douglas sounds way to formal and I don't want Doug as a first name.

JD for john Douglas?
DH's initials are JD & he loathed about being called that. I don't think he'd be down for that.

Oops
No biggy. I appreciated the feedback. We honored my Grandmother & MIL with DD's middle name of Marianne (Mary & Ann). It was perfect. Can't figure out how to pull it off with a boy name.
LFAF February Siggy Challenge - "Favorite TV/Movie Couple"
@Everycol0r I think most classic names are going to sound really formal with Douglas, would you be opposed to some of the newer age names? I can't think of any right now, but just thinking non-traditional ... Sorry for the little to no help lol

Absolutely! I had thought originally Cillian Douglas. Very Scot-Irish lol
LFAF February Siggy Challenge - "Favorite TV/Movie Couple"
@Everycol0r I like Charles Douglas. IMO it isn't too "formal." Another possible NN is Chaz/Chas. We've got a friend who goes by Charlie and they named their son Charles as well, so he goes by Chaz.
We know we'll use Franklin as a boys name; Franklin is after dh's grandfather. Josiah could be a middle name.
We've tossed around Mary Jane (after his grandmother and my mom), but then I found out Mary means bitter. Lois is another family name we both like, but I can't seem to commit to. Lucile (it's the German spelling) is a possible middle name because it was dh's great grandmother, grandmother, and mother's middle name. I'd use it for a first name if it wasn't so popular, with the traditional English spelling in that case.
I've been really obsessed with naming my imaginary girl Arya Mae. Arya is pretty, short, and goes with our long Polish name and I like the GoT character. May also sounds nice with all that and is the name of H's late grandmother.
No idea for boys. If we named him after H he'd be a III but that is really awful to deal with.
My youngest niece is named Gianna Caeli (Chay-lee). Gianna is a saint and Caeli is Gaelic. I really like that. Also have a friend that just had her daughter Faeolyn, Fae for short. But boy names are boring.
Arya is really high up on our list for girls. We would probably go for Tharja (which would be pronounced 'TAR-yah' over here), in which case she would partly be named after a character in DH's fave game, partly after Tarja Turunen (ex-Nightwish singer) and partly after Arya Stark, who is the bomb.
We also both really like Merel ('MIH-rol'), which is a Dutch name that means blackbird. We have this joke that we'll have kids called Merel, Mees (chickadee) and Arend (eagle) - which are all established Dutch first names - and then name the last one Flamingo. xD
A boy would probably be Lex (though DH doesn't want that to be short for Alexander, grr) or Joost ('Yoast'), which is quite a traditional Dutch name.
EDIT: Only just saw @Rabbitheart15 's post. My DH has my last name! (Long story to do with his parents' messy divorce and him not liking the way he ended up with his mother's last name). It's been legal over here for quite a while now, but he immediately ran into trouble at work, because their system will only allow people to take their partners' last name if 'sex = F'. *eye roll*
Girl Evelynn Jeanne (Jeanne was my grandmothers name)
Side note: my mil (whom I love) would flip for this name because Lynn is a huge name in our family and she would love it is part of this name -hence odd spelling. Her name is Lynn, I have an aunt Lynn, DH's brother has a mil named Lynn and his wife's middle name is Lynn, their daughters middle name is Lynn and mine and my mothers middle name is Lynn. phew!

Okay. I have thought Lon and hard about posting (we have only told four people the names we like) and I would love some other feed back.
Boys:
Connor Ayden (Ayden after something that I haven't felt like talking about in ages, hence the spelling)
Logan Kayle (Kayle after a League of legends character)
Girls:
Anna-Leigh (Anna for my own middle name, and my aunts. Leigh for all the Leigh's in my and DH family)
Elsie-Jane (Elsie is from an Anima that the DH and I both love. Jane is to honor DH's Grandmama who told everyone at the last family function That no one had named any of their children after her. And if fit perfectly!)

Only problem with Elsie is that it's VERY cutesy. I can't imagine a grown woman in a suit, going to the office for an interview, and introducing herself as Elsie. Maybe Elsa and you can call her Elsie. Elsa is a real name and very lovely and elegant. Great for not only a little girl but also a grown woman with important shit to do.
Did you guys see the SSA just put out its list of names for 2014? DH and I officially threw out Nora because it's getting way too popular.
We have now decided to do either Isla or Eliza for a girl and Colin for a boy. But that might change next month so....
We have had names picked out forever is seems like. Wilson for a boy it's his grandmothers maiden name and Charleston Rosalee for a girl after my dad who is Charles Lee! We are pretty into fun family names

I have met two wonderful grown females who are both names Elsie (75&32) and they are just fine being called Elsie. My only problem with the names Elsa is Frozen. That and the other girl name we have is Anna-Leigh. Do not want people thinking we named our girls after Frozen.

Oh snaps that's right! I clearly don't keep up with that stuff. Haha touche, PP. Honestly when I think of the name Elsa I think of Indiana Jones....
