My child said _________ ...

I thought this one would be fun.

My daughter is 4 and I love the way that her little brain works. This is a conversation we had a few weeks ago.

Rayne: "Mommy, is my baby sister here yet?"
Me: "Not yet, Pumpkin. It's going to take a long time for the baby to grow in mommy's tummy first. And we don't know if it's a baby brother or a baby sister. We have to wait until the doctor tells us if it's a boy baby or a girl baby."
Rayne - in a 'you're an idiot' kind of voice: "Um, No... MYYYYY baby is a girl baby! I am having a baby sister!"

I have tried multiple times to explain to her that we just don't know until the doctor takes some pictures. So now she is going around telling everyone, "The doctor is going to take pictures of the baby and then tell me that I'm having a baby sister."

Well I guess that settles it. Kind of missed my point there, kiddo! LOL.

What is something funny, crazy or cute your child has said to you or to someone else?

The other night my daughter (will be 3 in July) was saying goodnight to the baby and she said: "Good night, Sunshine! When you get older we will have sleepovers in my bed. I love you!" Holy cow! Tears, tears, and more tears! I couldn't handle the sweetness. She also says often, "Hi in there girlie, girlie, girlie!" I love it!

    Oh my gosh, that's adorable!!
  • I can ask dd (19 months) where money's baby is and she'll lift my shirt and point and give kisses. And sometimes she'll ask to "see" the baby".
  • @angela_angel my daughter does the same thing.  Its also fun to listen to her say fox

  • My DS will say (on a bumpy road), "The car is bumpin, it needs gas." He also says the baby crawled away and told his nanny that he has a baby in his tummy. Silly munchkin!
  • Just this morning I had this conversation with my 3 yr old DD!
Elsie: Mama, can I have some marshmallows?
    Me: Um, No, absolutely not!
Elsie: But Mom, they give me super powers!
LOL! I don't know where she comes up with this stuff. But I seriously considered giving them to her just because I thought it was so adorable! I didn't though!
  • I'm giggling at work with all of these. My son who is 4.5 yrs old tells me I shouldn't eat spicy foods because the baby's eyes will hurt. He says Hi and Bye to baby Siena everyday and rubs my tummy and kisses it. Sometimes he will smell my tummy and tell me the baby smells like me LOL. And he knows everything...like when his baby sister is sleeping or hungry & what she likes and doesn't like (she according to him loves all of his snacks! ;)) and I should have some with him so we can share with his sister, but in reality he is trying to trick me into giving him an extra snack a day...not gonna work pal!

@laceyjaep my son was very clear with me that he wanted a baby brother and he would tell me everyday he was going to have a brother...but I would tell him and remind him even when he wouldn't bring it up that we weren't sure if baby was a girl or a boy yet because the baby was still too little to be able find out the news. So finally when we had our ultrasound done, I made him a sign that read he was going to be a big brother (which he obviously already knew lol) and I got a little frame and placed an ultrasound pic of his sister so he could open. Once he did, he realized everything was pink and asked me if he was having a sister and I said yes...His response was WHOA, I'm having a little sister!!!!! :) and he kept starring at the frame. ...he was in love.
    That is so very sweet!

It's not what he says so much as what he does, he's still learning his words. So a few weeks back he was making this awful noise, and then he would pretend to spit. DH and I were looking at each other like what on earth is he doing and then it dawned on us: he was mimicking my morning sickness! Priceless!

My nephew use to do this to my sister-in-law!! Too funny:)
  • My 6 year old told me I shouldn't eat nuts because the baby can't chew them and to stick to things like cereal that can dissolve in her mouth.
  • I'm a FTM, but I'm close with my cousin's daughter who just turned 5. She said she was on team boy when she found out I was pregnant. We found out Thursday that we're having a girl and invited family over for cupcakes. She walked in and saw the pink and just stood there. Finally she said, "so who got to decide it gets to be a girl!?"

I've also gotten extra back rubs from her because "the baby likes them" :)
  • Aw these gave me a good old happy hormonal cry =)) :x
  • I'm a FTM but I have a classroom of 12, 3 year olds. We found out last week were are having a boy! But my preschoolers are pretty devastated, lol. One of my little girls keeps asking if I'm sure, or if it still a boy. She'll say, "you have a boy in your tummy?" Then sigh when I say yes. I love them! I'm starting to show more and one of my boys pointed to my belly and said "I see your baby". They crack me up all day long.
  • A new one from this weekend...

I asked my 4 year old what we were going to name her baby brother or sister. She thought really hard for a minute and then said, "I don't know. I just gunna ask what is her name when she gets bigger."

That would make complete sense if I was 4 years old as well. LOL!

A new one from tonight's bedtime:

My daughter (3yo in July) pretended to drink "water" from my belly button as in amniotic fluid. She says the baby knew she was thirsty. Adorable, but gross.

  • My son is 3.5 and convinced "his baby" is a boy, but "mommy's baby" is a girl. LOL Then he pretended to take the baby out of my belly and put it in his belly and walked around with no shirt on pretending to have a baby in his belly. SO CUTE!
  • My nephew is 3 and keeps rubbing and kissing my belly. We've never told him to do this. We aren't sure where he learned it but it's super cute.
