Had my 32 week appt. everything was great. Measuring great. Then midwife tells me I've gained double the weight "they'd" like to see me gain this month. All I want to do is eat my sorrows away.
She didn't seem concerned at all, I just always linger on the one thing, especially if it has to do with my weight. I called one of my gal pals. She told me not to worry about it and eat ALL the FOODS. Haha
Went for my 36 week appt today and anticipated the GBS so I took my undies off and had a dress on. And then got second thoughts that maybe they weren't doing the swab because there was no specimen container and it would be really awkward if i pulled up my dress to listen to the heart rate and had no undies on. So I put my underwear back on. No swab today. I'm so awkward.

Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
Had my 36 week check today, and moving to every 10-12 days from now on. Baby measuring almost 6 pounds if you believe those measurements, and doc said baby won't be huge, just average size (grateful because DH and I were both 9+ lbs!). DH got to join me for the NST today, which was fun.
Not dilated or anything - doc said "baby won't come today or tomorrow!" Lol, thanks for that... Doc also said probably need to plan on no epidural due to my scoliosis but recommended I book an appointment with the anesthesiologist at the hospital "and have this conversation now vs during labor." Good call.

Yep I met with the anesthesiologist too ahead of time. I have a nerve issue and my doc said its better to talk earlier than to attempt to discuss it when you show up in labor! The anesthesiologist surprisingly said an epidural would be ok (hooray!) but went over what modifications they might make. It's also good to go early so it's in your chart and so not matter who is working when you happen to show up, it's all there. Good luck!
Also a funny note on culture... We were running 5 minutes late to today's appointment because there is a national strike that is affecting public transportation in Germany. At 10:28 (appointment at 10:30), my cell rings and they ask if I am coming today. I explained the strike and said we are two blocks away. We get to the office and the receptionist gives me tons of crap about being (5 minutes) late! We had to wait another 30 minutes to see the doctor, which never happens. I was either being punished or they are that efficient, I lost my spot and had to wait for another opening.
My last doctor in Germany kept me waiting at least 45 minutes every time, so the stereotypes aren't always true. But today's made me laugh.
Had my 36 week appointment today! I got that lovely GBS swab and my instructions on what to do when labor starts. I'm mixed between being unable to believe that I'm "already" at this point, and feeling like 40 weeks couldn't be further away.
I also asked my doctor about the hospital's c section rates - I did some research and came across some statistics saying that my hospital's rate for them is 40%+, which I find pretty alarming. OB was pretty surprised to hear that that was the rate and assured me that hers is much lower. She's the reason why I chose this particular practice, and I'm really hoping she's going to be the doctor delivering LO, but there are 7 or 8 other doctors who it could be, so I'm a bit anxious about that. Obviously if I need one, I'll get one, but I'd rather not just get one because of a scalpel-happy doctor. Guess all I can do is pray I get my preferred doctor or one who's similarly minded and hope for the best! Good news is that OB said that since I'm young, LO is head down, and we're both in great health, there's no reason to suggest that a c section might be necessary - hopefully this remains true!
Had my 36 week check up yesterday - got swabbed for my GBS test (and contrary to what I've read from other's experiences, they didn't stick it in my butt lol, just swabbed around thankfully). All is measuring perfectly-fundal height, my bp was good, and baby's heartbeat was on point. I found out she is head down and in position and I'm 1cm dilated. I forgot to ask about effacement-I was more concerned that I didn't forget to ask the doctor to write me a prescription to be able to get a breast pump in order for my insurance to cover it.
So a pretty 'by the book' appointment, but I'm very thankful for that I've had a boring and normal pregnancy.
I had my weekly check in yesterday. I mentioned less movement and LO did not move during the whole ultrasound even when she pushed on my tummy. She gave me some chocolate and still did not feel him move before the end of the appt with the doctor so they sent us to l& d to get checked. Took a big glass of cold juice. Guess he is a deep sleeper like his mom!
I'm boring, too. I have a stomach ulcer from the heartburn so I got some stronger medication for it. BP was good (120-70), measuring fine. I like being in and out.
Just got back from my 36 week. Last several have been simple and routine. Earned an ultrasound and NST this time as babies heart rate was dropping a little too low and he's moving so freely they want to check his size. My first was growth restricted. Dr. Didn't seem to concerned though she did send me to hospital to do this right away. Just hoping all is well. At least I will know soon.
I had my first cervical exam today-- I'm 80% effaced, at +2 station and 1cm dilated! She's sitting so low in there, which is making my back feel wonderful...not. Dr. said most women are pushing when the baby is this low, but my body hasn't quite caught up with baby yet! I might end up delivering in May! They did an ultrasound and she's at about 5lbs 10oz! Grow baby, grow!
Just had my 35 week appt today and everything was fine. They checked his position and he is head down (thank goodness). I have an irrational fear of a csection. They did the gbs swab also but no warning I was getting that today. So goes life I guess. We're almost there ladies!
Had my first weekly appt. 36 wks 1 day. Cervix posterior, not dialated, could feel baby's head but not engaged in the pelvis yet. I am happy about all of that because my last day of class and final is 14 May. I am due the 4th of June, but this being the fourth had me nervous. I can breathe until next week
