We fell pregnant on our first cycle of IVF. I suffer from endometriosis and I also have ovarian cysts.
In my ninth week of pregnancy I got period cramps and started to bleed. The ultrasound showed that the baby died shortly after my eight weeks scan. At my eight weeks scan the doctor said that everything looked fine, the heartbeat was strong and the fetus is developing as is should.
What could have caused my baby's heart to suddenly stop beating? Why did the pregnancy progress so far just to end so suddenly?
I was on progesterone suppositories which I took religiously, as well as my pre-natal vitamins.
We waited three weeks for the D&E results that were inconclusive. There was nothing wrong with my blood work and they could not get anything from the scrape because the fetus have already been dead for more than a week. Also, apparently they don't genetically test the fetus when it is your first miscarriage.
I posted on here a few times because I was worried because I had no pregnancy symptoms, I know this is not the reason for the miscarriage, I just wish I can get some closure.
There is no eggs left from my previous cycle, so we have to start all over again. Why did this have to happen!!!
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
(Ps: the miscarriage happened on 10 April, today is the first time I had the strength to post my story)
Re: Missed miscarriage after IVF
My d&e was the same day as your miscarriage. I found out I was going to miscarry two weeks before that. Tomorrow will be six weeks since that day, but it feels even longer.
I'm sorry you have to start all over again.

RE says the low egg count is likely causing my recurrent pregnancy loss. Less eggs results in more aneuploidy.
