After you got your BFP what was the first baby related item you bought and how many seconds did you wait to buy it?

I bought a board I had been eyeing on Etsy since before we started TTC to announce to my parents. It's says "the only thing better than having you for parents is our baby having you for grandparents' and a little clip for a picture or something. I ordered it within hours of my BFP.

A couple of pregnancy books. I bought my mom a replica Oscar award statue that says "Best Supporting Nana". I waited a few days for the books and 2 weeks for the statue. My mom is obsessed with the oscars and I am so excited to give it to her!

I may have bought stuff when we were still TTC. The first thing I bought after our BFP was some gender neutral onesies from our local baby consignment store.

ETA: I bought it about 12 hours after my first test!

I bought a pregnancy journal a few days after getting my BFP. I haven't started filling it though.

More pregnancy tests because I just couldn't believe this was for real and I needed to pee on more sticks! lol

And then a few days later I ordered a pregnancy journal, What to Expect, and a baby name book.

I haven't bought anything yet, but what I did do was pull out all of my maturity clothes from my last pregnancy and the clothes I've been collecting and wash all of it.

If we ever have a son, we are going to name him Luke. I joke we will make his middle name Skywalker. I bought DH "Darth and Son" and wrapped it up as a gift. I bought it with in hours of my BFP. I haven't bought any other baby items yet, but I've been tempted!

If I were smarter I would have bought it off of amazon or something for cheaper! But I waited until last minute and bought it at Target. DH was all teary. It was precious!

Bought a book for the expectant father for my husband and left it on the bed with my positive test. Other than that I have been trying to refrain from buying anything just yet. I've got a massive wish list forming in my head though!

You post here a lot, so I assume you aren't soliciting, but this looks so much like soliciting. Most people, within days of their BFP haven't thought about car seats, much less a car seat canopy. What gives?

The fact that It was free. Lol The question was "what was the first thing you bought?" And I answered it. I understand that a car seat canopy wouldn't be someone else's first choice. But it's just so happened to be the first thing I got.

My fiancé and I just got back from buying our first baby stuff for our first baby! We are so beyond excited! We got a couple new born outfits that are gender neutral, and some cute yellow ducky hats plus the most adorable yellow ducky baby robe! Sorry yall I am obsessed with yellow! My first pregnancy and this is just starting to sink in!

If you pick up a copy of Parent magazine, they usually have inserts for free baby slings, etc. You only pay for shipping. I saw three different items at my OB's office the last time I was there.

Edit - Hooray for slightly free stuff.

I haven't gotten anything yet. Not since we have had our previous loss. We bought so much stuff last time and ended up having to return it all (except one blanket I sleep with at night and plan on giving to this baby). I'm confident with how things are going and I'm really hopeful that this pregnancy will carry full term but this time I'm being a bit more cautious with my emotion. Going to hold off until we are out of our first trimester this time

I, too, bought more tests. But I had a couple days of squinters on the Wondfos, and maybe that's a squinter? Maybe not even that? on all the name brand ones I had, and ran out of name brand tests. Told the spouse I wasn't considering it a real positive until it gave a definitive line on the Wondfo and at least a definitive squinter on an expensive test. Thankfully, got good lines on the fourth day, so I only had to buy one more set of non-cheapos.

I bought both Vader & child books on the May the 4th Kindle version sale Amazon had, as I've given them as baby presents, and was curious to read myself. Will send whichever one ends up being appropriate to the spouse's device to let him know if he's not at the appt. where I find out.
