When did you find out your baby's gender? ?

Hey ladies! ! Congrats to everyone:) I wanted to know when you all found out the sex of your baby? I'm 11w4d, but will be 13 weeks at my next ultrasound. I've been reading that some of you found out already at 12. So I wanted to know when you all found out! ? Can't wait to hear:)

Generally speaking, most parents won't find out until 16 weeks or later.  Genetic testing can be done earlier with accuracy, but that's optional, and most people don't have it done unless they are high risk.

  • I will be finding out at 15 weeks at a 3rd party US place. They give you the US, pics, gifts, and everything. I am paying out of pocket 85 dollars.
  • At 12 weeks 5 days my doctor said she thinks its a boy. She claims to see a "shadow" between baby's legs. Will know 100% in 3 weeks.

The Harmony test. It's a simple blood draw.

11 weeks with the panorama blood test. I'm 27 and not high risk. My doctor offers it to every patient. It's only $100 and you find out early on about any possible chromosomal abnormalities. Since it takes the babies blood from your blood it also picks up the gender. This is my first pregnancy and I was shocked when they told me how early I would find out the sex, I thought I would be waiting until 16 weeks. You should ask your dr about the panorama testing.
  • With our first we found out at the anatomy scan at 18.5 weeks. The norm is between 18-22 weeks at the anatomy scan. You can pay a third party place to do it earlier around 15-16 weeks, before that it's just a guess at an ultrasound or genetic testing which is usually only done for high risk moms.
  • With my midwife we have to wait until 22 weeks. With my first two in was more like 16
  • We did NIPT testing for chromosome abnormalities and found out sex as well at 11.5 weeks. It seems like some peoples docs try to give them an idea at earlier ultrasounds but I don't know that those can be depended on.

We found out with our son who is almost six at 18 weeks.

  • I'm a doctor so the ultrasounds are fairly clear to me but my hubby and I wanted to be surprised. At our last ultrasound at 12 weeks, my doc said I think Baby A is a boy! We are having twins. And I saw it too but didn't want to say. I guess we will be surprised on Baby B. Since then I've been having dreams that they are both girls. Next ultrasound is in a few weeks... Maybe I won't look.
  • Found out at 12 weeks with the panorama test we are having a Boy!!!
  • Harmony test at 11 weeks - well, blood draw at 11 weeks and results at 12 weeks.
  • Thank you to all of those who replied! I think we're going to go with the harmony test. Is that something that needs to be referred or that you just go to a clinic/doctors office and have done? Also do you know out of pocket how much this test is? Thank you! ! And congrats to all of you who already found out the gender!
  • I found out this week, which is 14 weeks for me. Pretty obvious baby girl! :) trying to post the US pic but can't get it to attach... tech said they're 90% sure it's a girl. Guess we will confirm at 18 weeks!
  • Harmony blood draw at 10 weeks and results at 11.5 weeks. I am over 35 and there are chromosome issues on my husband's side so my OB referred us to a genetic counselor for the testing. We did not pay out of pocket for it.
  • I have never found out before 18 weeks. The doctor that I am seeing now said that he will do my anatomy scan at 19 weeks. I refuse to pay for an elective 3d scan, I can wait a couple of extra weeks.

I'm a day shy of 13 weeks and at my NT scan today she told me she was 85% sure it's a boy. We already have an appointment for a third party ultrasound at 15 weeks, so I guess we will confirm there. But as of now I've got an ultrasound picture that shows what looks very much like its a boy!
  • I went to the dr yesterday and the ultrasound tech said she is pretty sure baby looks like a boy. She said it's not 100% since the baby is still small (12 wks 2days) but from what she can see that's what she thinks. I will find out definitely on July 2nd.
  • I will be getting a gender scan in 3 weeks at an ultrasound boutique. I will have just made 17w and we will be doing a reveal party with close friends/family 4 days later to find what we are having!!

  • I found out I am having a girl at 12 weeks doing the MaterniT21 test, it is a simple blood draw and 99.9% accurate, because they text the baby's DNA.  I did not have this option with my first pregnancies because it was so many years ago and I found out with my 2 sons at 18 weeks during the anatomy scans. I did not have any ultrasounds between 11 and 18 weeks with them, so I don't know if I could have found out sooner or not.
