December 2015 Moms

who's showing?!

Hi December mammas! Just curious who's getting their bump started?

I'm 9 weeks in as of yesterday and a friend actually asked about my bump this weekend. Supposedly too early, I know, but I'm about 5'1" and was 110 lbs when I got pregnant. Only gained 3 lbs, but all in front, and there's no way it's all bloat! They say your uterus is grapefruit sized at this point, so I blame the uterus. How about everyone else?

we have a thread going where you can post a picture and how far you are. but to answer your question, nope, no bump yet.
  • I'm 4'10 and 106lbs and this is my second pregnancy - I'm just extremely bloated! Not showing yet :)
  • I'm 9 weeks and have a definite baby bump too! I've been being asked questions for over a week now... Lol
  • I'm 5'2 and 110lb so baby has no where to go but out. I'm definitely showing. I was the same way with my first pregnancy.
  • I'm 5' and 135 pounds..... First baby... I'm 9w3d and I see a bump but I feel like I'm in awkward stage where if ppl didn't know me they'd think I just gained weight...

In the old Bump if someone said they were showing before the end of the first trimester women would be freaking out and posting links to articles and charts explaining that you are not showing this early. I keep waiting for it to happen..but the bump has tamed it seems.
  • Just fat here! Lol

Same here... Lots of bloat. But no actual baby bump yet. :)
  • That looks like a baby bump to me!
  • My uterus has def expanded making me feel bloated already. This is my 2nd kid.
  • I just look like I ate too many cheeseburgers and my pants are starting to not fit.
  • I have a belly before even getting in the "family way" as my husband jokingly calls it
  • Just a bit of jiggle here haha
  • I've out grown my pants, but I wouldn't call it "showing". No one would ask me "when are you due?" They would just think I've gained ten pounds.

  • Definitely the bloating. I can tell because it's still squishy, lol.
  • I tell my H that real baby is pushing out my food baby... (first pregnancy I started wearing maternity pants at 12 weeks and ended up being hugethe entire time, extremely short torso here)
  • I have a combo of bloat and a little more bump than usual- I'm 10w 4d and have struggled with jeans for about a week- very uncomfortable- they say you start earlier with your second kid though so who knows- I just know I'm pregnant and feel pregnant- still pretty blah lol
  • Just starting to show a little bit at 8w4d. Up until this point it has been bloat because it was squishy but this morning it feels a good bit harder.
  • I feel bloated. I had been working on my flat abs for months before I found out I was preggo, but not it looks like I hadn't. Definitely doesn't feel like a baby bump yet. I admit to checking my refelction every possible moment just to check that it hasn't popped out when I wasn't looking. I always get a little ahead of myself, 7w.

  • @9weeks, I definitely cannot fit comfortably in any of my jeans/work clothes. Using the Beband already. It's crazy. I think a big portion is bloat. I've gained a little weight but that's because we just went on a cruise.  I hope it's normal to be so bloated in my first pregnancy. No one has noticed yet, other than myself.

I just finished a fit challenge less than two weeks ago and had abs...a week and a half later there is no sign of them and I swear I'm already showing. I'm sure it's just bloat though.

  • It is possible to show early especially if this is not your first or if you are having multiples. And even if you don't believe it I can already start to feel the top of my uterus. It all depends on the person and the pregnancy. Each one is completely different. With my son by this point I couldn't even keep water down. As long as I keep something in my stomach I feel ok this time around.

    At 8 or 9 weeks? I don't think so.
  • Yes some women have low pubic bones and I'm currently estemated at 8w4d and I definitely am showing and can feel the uterus. This is my second pregnancy and possibly twins.
  • I'm 5'1 and use to weigh about 102 lbs and it is my first baby! But I'm not seeing no bump yet but boobs are looking huge! Lol. If early signs of showing than only explanation would be twins.

My OB said if you're shorter (5'2" or under) or have a lower pubic bone you can start showing as early as 9 weeks with 1, 8 with multiples. She told me mine was just bloat but I'm only 6 and 3 but she thought I'd show around 9 or 10 weeks. Everyone is different. My sister was clearly preggers at 9 weeks, she's 5'
  • my boyfriend poked my bellie last night and say "woah, slow down....this is too fast for me "
  • Yeah I'm 5'2" this is my second pregnancy with my first I didn't even have to start wearing maternity clothes until like 5-6 months but there is a good possibility of twins this time. Early ultrasound showed 2 small black spots but no actual sacs or babies yet. We'll find out next week
  • The bloat is squishy but baby bump is firm and hard to push or suck in. That's how it was with my son. My ob told me when it gets firm it's baby and uterus
  • These are all theoretical responses. Every thing depends upon the woman and her frame, in addition to many other factors. For example, I have what looks to be quite the Bump. But I know it's not a baby bump, it's bloating gas and distention. I have had a long history of irritable bowel disease and I've had many exploratory laparotomy is and resection is meaning they have cut my abdominal walls both vertically and horizontally all the way across my torso. It is not unusual for me to look extraordinarily pregnant if I am very gassy and bloated. My belly is not soft or squishy, it is hard. But that doesn't make it a baby bump. Because if that were the case then why would I be looking pregnant when I wasn't?

Ok so this is a silly question that I'm sure is Google-able but since the thread is already started ;) haha... How do you tell the difference between bloat and baby bump? I know it's just bloat now. (8w5d) But when I look in the mirror, even in the morning, I think man I look pregnant! Lol

    Lolol! Love it!
  • I know a lot of people say you can't be showing this early but I am 8 weeks pregnant with twins and nothing fits!!! I'm already on elastic waist bands. I'm sure a portion of this is bloat too but I was asked today if I was pregnant because I have a cute "bump".
  • It's definitely squishy ;) lol
