I was just wondering if anyone here is using shakeology while pregnant? My midwife has approved the ingredients; but just looking for personal experiences (which I know can be different anyways)
I'd like to know this myself. I drank it everyday before I found out I was pregnant and have since stopped when I found out a few weeks ago. I haven't had my first appt yet so I haven't been able to ask. I'd love to continue drinking it but not with getting approval.
Not sure about shakeology. Some women at my gym drank herbalife while they were pregnant. If your midwife approved the ingredients, I think you should be fine!
I've drank shakeology everyday while pregnant so far this time- it's really good for you- I've done my research as well- some OBs will even say just add a folic acid supplement and it can count for your prenatal vitamin because of its contents- I'm still taking my vitamin can't hurt but it's all natural and nutritious so ingredients have been proven safe- I know a number of women that have drank it every day while pregnant and had no issues
Yes, presents are always awesome! I like the chocolate one too, I add PB2, some cocoa powder and a tsp of caramel flavour and it tastes like a snickers bar... MMMMM
I have my first Appt next week so I'll let you know what my doc says. Im just wondering if it overdoing it to drink the shakeology along with taking prenatals?
My coach is also a midwife and said that I shouldn't take a prenatal vitamin and shakeology together. So I have been alternating days...on the days I do Shakeology, I skip my prenatal and vice versa. I take a separate folate daily.
I did Herbalife shakes during my entire pregnancy last time which i think is very similiar to Shakeology. They are loaded with nutrients however, I would do them as a snack and not as a meal replacement.
Kudos to you guys, I wish I liked that stuff... But man it was the grossest thing ever!!! I even tried adding ice cream!! Still nasty. The ingredients are good, I just wish I could stomach the stuff.
My OB cleared it as an alternative to prenatal with a little added folic acid...which is great cause prenatal pills make my stomach sick. I love the vanilla...it's so versatile.
I drink it almost every morning. Took the list of ingredients to my Dr. yesterday for my first appt just to be sure and he said it was fine. I still take a prenatal vitamin w dha and I drink it with my breakfast instead of as my breakfast (which is what I did pre-pregnancy). I also mix mine w unsweetened almond milk or fat free organic milk so it's a good way for me to get in some extra calcium
My doctor said it was fine, as long as I took an extra DHA and folic acid supplement. I was happy she said that because I can't go to the bathroom without it!
I was drinking it everyday, but sometimes it is way too sweet for me. On those days, I just take my prenatal. My Obsaidit was fine as long as I took a folate supplement and I also take a Dha supplement.

It shouldn't be taken WITH a prenatal, as you can overdose on vitamin A and both have a full daily supply. The other vitamins are ok, but A is one you shouldn't take too much of. So just add DHA and folate to the shake.
So glad someone posted this! Been avoiding it cause I wasn't sure, but I'm totally pulling it out of the cabinet again! Shakeology always helped keep me constant and the prenatal I'm taking has me totally stopped up for the last week, it's miserable!
Just wanted to share ... I just came from my first appointment and saw a midwife. Like others had said, She said using shakeology was fine just use it in place of my prenatal but to supplement with folic acid.
