My doctor called me in an RX of Diflucan. But everything I've read said its risky to take during pregnancy and to stick to vaginal creams instead of oral medications. I need advice please!
I had a yeast infection a few weeks ago. I had the cream and the applicatior. My midwife told me not to use the applicator and just put the cream on myself. I didn't put it up far at all and infection cleared up super quick
I had a yeast infection 2 weeks ago (at 12 weeks) and my OB told me to use the over the counter Miconazole. I used the applicator and the meds for about 6 days and it was all cleared up. I had no problems at all. The baby will not be effected. They want you to use the 7 day so the meds wont be so strong. Don't get the 1 day or 3 day kit.
I had one around 7 weeks. I used the 3 day monistat suppositories. Just don't insert the applicator all the way (only 1/2 way). Cleared up and haven't had an issue since.
I actually treated myself for a yeast infection when I was about 4 weeks pregnant with Monistat 3 day, I mentioned it to my DR at my 6 week appointment and he said there wasn't anything to worry about.
My Dr called me in one as well but told me if I could stand it to.wait until I was about 15 weeks to take it. Maybe ask your Dr why the oral was recommended over the cream?
I went to my midwife today (I'm 13w5d), she said I have a yeast infection and prescribed me a vaginal cream to use with an applicator called Terconazole. I asked and she said it would be safe to use and would not affect the baby, but I read online that it's a category c drug, meaning risk cannot be ruled out. Any experience using that cream? Just seeking guidance and support. I just wouldn't want to do anything that could have a harmful effect on my baby.
I had a yeast infection and the monistat 7 day made me bleed terribly. I have a sensitve cervix. They had me take the pill as soon as I was 13 weeks. I'm now 16 weeks and everything seems fine.
Re: Yeast infection medication!!
From the moment I held you in my arms, I knew it was meant to be.

I adore her smile,
I cherish her hugs,
I admire her heart.
But most of all,
I love that she is my daughter.
