My 6 week old is in 6month cloths!!

I'm a FTM and don't know if my baby is just growing a lot or if sizes are really off? He's only 10.8 lbs but I have moved him to the 6 month old cloths so they weren't tight on him. Just seems crazy to me but he is long 22inches. I have tried many brands Carters target and gerber and anyone else having the same thing happen to them?

    I find the gerber brand runs really small! Also, if I accidentally dry things on medium or high heat, they tend to shrink!!!
    Children's Place & Baby Gap seem to run more true to age/size
    My nearly 7 week old is fitting well in 3 month stuff but I wouldn't be surprised if in another few weeks that he needs the next size up!

    Ultimately, it's just a number :) but it stinks when they grow so fast that they don't get to wear everything you have in a size before they outgrow it!!!
    Just be sure to casually let people know what size baby is wearing just before Christmas and their birthday so that you don't have to do as much exchanging :)

    Gymboree...although pricey has been my favorite so far. Does not shrink AND runs a little big in sizes. Also the clothes stand up to being rough on them.

    My girl was 19" and 6 lbs 5 oz when we left hospital. She's 7 weeks. 23" and 12 lbs. I'm bummed because she's outgrowing everything so fast! It's normal. That's why I'm not going crazy buying every cute outfit I see :)

    My 6 week old is just under 8lbs & is 21 in long & he is still wearing newborn. Today we tried a 0-3 month outfit and it's still so big. :( But don't feet bad one of my sons cousins is 3 weeks & is 10lbs 8oz & his other 2 week old cousin is close to 9lbs. My family popped babies out one after another & their will be 4 more born this year.. I guess my baby will always be little. :(

    Eh, someone has to be at the top of the growth spectrum. My baby was born at 10lbs, and has gained like crazy since then. She is wearing 6 month old clothes at 5 weeks and completely skipped the newborn phase.

    Her doctor is happy so I am too.

    Thanks everyone yea I'm just shocked at the difference in sizes to age but I'm just happy he is happy healthy and my little hunk! Thank goodness for sales!!!

    Hm.. Might just be his body type.. It seemed like H&M's clothes fit my first son (who grew big pretty quick) for quite a while. Gap too.

    My daughter is 6 weeks, 11lb5 and 27in (she's had a crazy growth spurt) but she's still fitting nicely into 0-3 from Gap and The White Company. I guess it just depends on where the clothes are from - one of her Next onesies is still slightly big and that's 0-3 too!
