This is Peyton- tonight he found stuffed baby toys, chewed and slobbered all over them. Any ideas on how to teach dogs that everything stuffed isn't theirs?
Teach them the leave it command. If you're not sure how to teach is, look at aspca's website, or I also like zak George's videos on YouTube.
Thanks- he knows the leave it command, but he gets into things when I leave the room. I'll keep working on being consistent and also putting things away.
@devyns2nd your fur baby looks a lot like mine! I've never seen anyone else with a gray calico! How neat! Mine doesn't come with a cool mushroom set though!
@knwilliams01 and @lovethatcolosun my dog has a prescription for Xanax.... Surprisingly it works very little but I have them on hand when needed. It's an option you can consider.
@lovethatcolosun she is a cone head for a while. She hates it and is miserable so we take it off when we know we can sit with her and watch her. She'll be in a good mood and then the cone goes on and her mood completely changes- cue sad puppy dog eyes. best for her though
Ah! Poor Toby! Glad you took him in before it turned into anything worse. Has he been doing better since the other dog left? Sending lots of puppy hugs!
@mvargas12 he is doing better. He's been sleeping quite a bit because of his pain killers, and I think he likes the fact that he doesn't need to be on guard any more. Me too for that matter. I don't have to be momma bear when her parents were gone all day.
Toby used to protest when wearing his "lamp shade." He would run it along the wall, push it into our legs when he walked by, knock things off coffee tables and the poor guy would get caught on door frames. It was somewhat comical and sad at the same time.
I moved yesterday so I had to take my puppy to his grandpa's house to stay until I get a place that allows dogs. I cried all day. Hes a good boy and will adjust fine.
