Consider it a good thing. Some people do have more ultrasounds, but usually, it's because the doctors are monitoring something that concerns them or that they want to keep an eye on.
No more ultrasounds = healthy baby and healthy mama!

The practice I am at does one at 36 weeks. However a lot of practices and assuming it's a normal healthy pregnancy with no issues do not do them after the AS.
I see a perinatologist as I am high risk due to past PTL. As a result I have had an ultrasound weekly and will continue to do so for awhile. It is great to see baby lots.... But also nerve wracking
I get another at 31 weeks and then I think every week starting at 36, but I can't quite remember. I'm sort of high risk (high risk for blood clots but have never had one so not really high risk) so I don't know if that makes a difference.
I would consider yourself lucky since more ultrasounds are usually to look for problems. But you can also get a private one. If you get to 41 weeks pregnant then you have one to check on the placenta
I had one last time at 38 weeks because my fundal height grew 5 cm in a week and then one at 41 since she was late. This time I am having complications so I have to have one more at least at 24 weeks.
My doctor said the same. Just had my 20 week anatomy ultrasound and she told me the only time they will do another one is if they feel one needs to be scheduled.
I will have one more because they could not get a good look at the heart (the tech was only able to get 3 of the 5 views they want). Other then that no I will not have anymore.
Mine is doing another, I can't remember if they said 32 or 36 weeks but it's somewhere around there. Normal healthy pregnancy, I guess it's just to monitor size and make sure baby is where he should be at that time.
I will likely have one so see exactly where placenta is since it is anterior. But in past experience we don't have one unless baby is over due or one of you are having complications.
My OB's clinic does them often, so I suppose I'm in the minority here, but we get them done almost every visit, and a 3D/4D one at 32-34 weeks with a DVD. The "unimportant" ones (the ones that aren't checking for things) are very brief, maybe 10ish minutes? Its mostly just a reassuring thing he does for all of us, and we can absolutely opt out of any ultrasounds we don't want done. But its been neat to have a new picture to bring home after every visit.
Mine will only do them now if my fundal height measures off in future visits, there are any other issues, or if I go past my due date. Our 20-week ultrasound was bittersweet since I knew it might be the last time I get to see baby before it's born!
I just had mine today. The tech told me she could not get a good look at his face - we didn't even get to see a profile or anything either today. He was active, but he just kept his hand in front of his face the entire time. The doctor mentioned that she couldn't get a good shot of his heart either, but followed it all up by saying that everything they did see looked perfect... I have to get a follow-up scan at my next appt just to get those pics.
... but I still am freaking out about the heart bit! I am guessing if they did see something questionable, they would have said something... I hope!

My doctor says that I won't need anymore ultrasounds after our 20 week anatomy scan. Anyone getting more ultrasounds done after the 20 weeks?
Just got home from my 20-week ultrasound and baby didn't cooperate very well so they didn't get all the measurements. They said from what they could see, she's measuring a little small but everything looks fine. They requested I come back in 4 weeks to make sure she's growing on time. I'm nervous and hope she's okay. Usually you don't need any more ultrasounds after 20 weeks, but you can pay for a 3D ultrasound if you want to see baby again.
My doctor said insurance only views the anatomy scan as a "need" but that she can almost always come up with another "need" around 35 weeks was very excited to hear that! I know u/s are not super accurate with weight and size too but still can give you a general-ish idea although it might be better not to know. If you think baby will be big you might psych yourself out!
I have 3 more, one to finish up anatomy because he wasn't cooperating, then two more to keep an eye on growth. (28 weeks and 34 weeks) It's because I see a perinatologist..and I also have no thyroid at all it was removed last January.
I have one at 22 weeks and 24 weeks but they are to check baby's heart and then a growth scan. It's nornal to only have a 12 week scan and a 20 week scan
