Crazy Baby Names!

From viewing other threads, it seems like each one of us knows one person who has picked a crazy baby name! How about we share crazy baby names, whether we like them or not! My next door neighbor growing up named her sons Creek and Stone. She ruined the name River for me, even though I love it because I think it's too similar! I also saw a birth announcement at the OB's office for a baby named Lux Jolee. Oh goodness! Also I know a baby named Lyric and one named Kian. Unusual for sure.

Whatcha got?!

Oh my! I have no words!
  • I've met a cashier named "Shade" (girl) and a girl in my high school named "Jagger" and "Hennessey" .. I actually loved them all though lol!
  • I also remember a girl in the grade behind me and her name is Holly Wood.

I follow someone on IG who just named her baby Birdie Feather. I feel bad for even mentioning it because she's a baby, but the name is a little out there, to me.

  • I know of a girl named "pekulure" pronounced peculiar
  • Whoa, some of these names are out there! And frightening haha!!

I know someone who named her son Leunam King (pronounced LEE-YOU-NAM). It's Manuel spelled backwards. She wanted him to have a strong, unique name, and that's exactly what she got. He's growing up to be a very precious boy :-)
  • I work for a courthouse, I've seen women named Snakeesha and Tempestuous. Can't make it up.

I had a friend who worked for a school helping mentally challenged teens and several of the girls got pregnant. Three of the names I remember were lemongelo and orangelo (like lemon jello and orange jello) and gonaraya (pronounced like the std).
By the way I really hope this doesn't come off as offensive, sorry if it does. It's just the only weird names I've heard...minus one friend who named her daughter storm. She loved it, not my cup of tea.
  • A friend works in a school and they have a student named Luke Skywalker (he has a normal last name thankfully).

A female cashier at my grocery store is named Atlantis.

In college we knew a girl who's name was Bunnykins (we saw her drivers license so it was legal).

  • Formica Dinette... I have no words...
  • Had some friends name their daughter Snow last name White. Snow White. It was all I could do to keep smiling and say "that's nice" instead of smacking them on the side of the head and be like "what are you thinking?!"

  • River, Rayne and Summit... Brothers!

My SIL gave her son the middle name 'Star', but only it's not the spelling way...it's like the 'here grab a pencil and draw me a star, please'......I didn't even know you could use symbols on a birth certificate?!?!?! Of course I love her and him, but the whole family was confused! LOL

Is this in the U.S.? I thought symbols and accents were prohibited. My middle name is Renée but they refused to put the accent over the E on my birth certificate and all legal documents (I'm not the only one; this still happens).

Hahahaha I just watched that episode!!!
  • I once met a guy named Silver. :|
  • I know of a boy named Bronc, and girl named Hailin Raine. My friends old classmate gave her daughter the initials "OOPS," because well, she was an ooops.
  • There's a boy at one of my schools named Allakassoue...pronounced al-a-ka-zoo. I start singing that song from a Disney movie everytime i hear it. Bibbity bobbity boo!
  • Jesus (pronounced Jeez-us like the Bible, not Hey-zeus like the Spanish way).  Thor.  Harpsichord.   Bean.

Not one I know personally, but I heard of a kid named Banjo one time.

  • Queenie and her brother Stone
    Lavender (which I actually love)
Mellowdee (name is normal, spelling is not)
  • A girl in one of my bank training classes years ago was named Sweetheart St. Valentine, and it was on her orientation paperwork :(
  • @KimberlyMav :( gosh now I feel really stupid. I kid you not I had a friend tell me that this happened to her and I believed her all these years! Now I just feel really silly for thinking she was serious.

Yep, in the U.S. It's supposedly on the birth certificate. He is almost two years old. I haven't seen it with my own eyes but she tells EVERYONE it's the symbol star...because he is her shiny star...lol. From what I have heard, they let you put anything down!!
  • So how are people going to type that on forms and things?  How is he going to fill in the bubble for his middle initial on a standardized test?

I live in KC. I hear many names like these. Lots of apostrophes. Love the "above comma" one, oy. Had a kid named Jugbear (juh-bear, silent 'g') in church a few years back.
