I'll be 23 weeks on Sunday and I've gained about 12. More than I'd like to have gained, but certainly not out of the realm of "healthy" for the pregnancy.
24 weeks 5 days and right around 20 pounds. I was underweight to start though (around 100 lbs to around 120 now), so I'm in line for where I need to be. I gained right about 40 with my daughter starting at the same weight and the doctor was happy with it.
Agree with @BreezyMeema. Weight gain during pregnancy depends on so many factors--pre-pregnancy weight, body type, genetics, etc. Comparisons are sort of pointless.
I think it's interesting. I'd gained 20 lbs by this time with DD, but have only gained 4lbs so far this time. However, I started heavier and I have kept up with my exercise routine (which I ditched before).
I dislike these threads. It's nothing personal, I just don't think it's healthy.
When I first saw this, i actually was going to write something similar to this, but you beat me to it! (you always seem to! lol) I agree with you! I don't think these posts are meant to be, but I do think they turn into something a little competitive. And not only that, a women could catch feelings about her weight gain which could make her feel upset. I don't know.
Im 24w2d my prepregnacy weight was around 120,125 then the end of first trimester I lost weight then was 112 then when I last went to the doctor I was back at 124 and I have a appointment on Tuesday I shall see if I gained more or not .
I'm 22 weeks and up 12 lbs from 126 (I'm 5'4"). That is with eating healthy and exercising for one hour per day. I guarantee if I cut out the uphill treadmill walking I'd be up another 10 lbs. this is getting really difficult to gain slowly!
I agree.. It makes me feel bad about myself and I can't help it! I feel great and love myself when I look in the mirror but by the scale I seemed to have gained too much weight (even though my doctor isn't concerned) ... 25 weeks 20 lbs - 125 to 145
Im 24 weeks, lost 5 during the the first tri, and since then gained 23 so im up 18 pounds. OB hasnt said anything negative about it and i was slightly overweight to begin with too
I think as long as you feel HEALTHY and your doctor isn't worried you are fine. I do feel a bit like Violet in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory some days (like when I try to get up off the couch.. Haha) but I'm not 'fat' by any means I just have a baby in my belly!
I am currently 22w5d, 78.5kg (173 pounds), and 168cm tall (I think that is 5ft6 or 5ft7?)
Technically I haven't gained any yet. I am back at my starting pregnancy weight finally now at 25.4 weeks. I lost 4lbs in the first trimester which I finally gained back the past month. At this point with my son I had gained about 9lbs already and started at the same exact weight, so I was worried but my ob told me the baby is measuring perfectly on track so it is fine. Every pregnancy is so different so I hope nobody is feeling the need to compare, worry or freak out that they think they have gained too much or too little.
It was a question out of curiosity not comparison..
I realize there was no harmful/negative intent to this. It just opens the door for woman to compare themselves and end up feeling like they either won or lost, you know? Weight gain in pregnancy depends on so many different factors and to just look at a number, is really inaccurate and sometimes harmful. What's healthy for me, may or may not be healthy for you.
And... Add in that there are women who have posted on here about their challenges with eating disorders..
We know you don't mean anything by it, but it's hard not to compare and feel like a fat hog when u read some of these responses. I'm totally in the healthy range, at the high end of healthy, but then i see people posting, they've gained 8lbs at 22 weeks and it makes me want to scream. I love being pregnant, but the stress of considering i may have to buy a new wardrobe after baby, is making me nutty.

I agree with this 100% it's hard when you were used to being a size 8 and now you have moved up to a size 12 And see everyone else not gaining as much and we are doing the exact same thing exercising and eating healthy. I understand women carry weight differently but it's not something a lot of people like to think about.
I believe she posted this out of curiosity which I can appreciate being a FTM. Yes, it could encourage comparison if you don't recognize that pregnancy can be different for everyone but if you do recognize it then it's just a healthy conversation amongst curious & willing to share women. You can read online all day about how much you're supposed/not supposed to gain & sometimes you just want to hear things from other lovely mom to be's. I can appreciate this post. I'm 23w 4d & I have gained 7 lbs.
I'm 25 weeks and have gained 4 so far.. But I lost a lot first trimester due to nausea and no appetite so it's confusing to say really how much I've gained! OB says baby and myself are healthy so that's all that matters! Weight is just a number, some gain more, some don't. Do not worry about how much or little you've gained, or compare to others. No two pregnancies are the same; as long and you and baby (or twins, yay @jlaurentyler !!) is healthy, that should be your only concern.
