Baby Names

Dylann

Friend just gave this name to her baby daughter.

My cousin gave birth to a little girl, Ryann, a couple of months ago.

Stop the insanity! Did I miss the memo stating that boys' names on girls is more acceptable if you tack on an extra N?

The best is that these same people probably get annoyed if people pronounce the names as Dyl-Anne or Ry-Anne instead of Dylan and Ryan.
  • The extra N is short for has a vagina. So

Phew, makes so much more sense now!
  • Lurker here who shares this hatred - next up will be Kevinn, Alann and Samsonn
  • Wait...so is it dill-anne? Or normal Dylan?
  • Is it pronounced Dylan or Dyl-ann? Terrible either way.

  • So, Patrickk.....no?

My daughter is Ryann pronounced like Ryan and named after her 90 year old great grandma who came from Wales to America when she was 16. I guess her parents got the trend memo from the future. Let it go, let it go.....

Each is pronounced like the corresponding boy name.

If I have another girl, her name will be Jaxsonn.
You should go with Jaxsynn.  Gotta have that "y" in there too! :)

  • Great, starting the count down until I see the first girl named "Jaxsynn".

"It's pronounced Jax-Anne but we added the y and nn to make it more girly."

Well technically it should be Dulan/Dullun so I guess Dul-Anne?

The only -leigh name that I like is ... Leigh ... on it's own ... by itself ... everything else makes me think of horses and I don't know why. maybe because horses neigh?

Or changing the -ley to -lea and expecting the pronnunciation to be the same. I know several Ashlea's, Preslea's, Kaylea's, and Kinlea's. Yeouch.

Sigh. Thats ones been around for a while now.

My middle name is Lea. Cause Mom thought that was the feminine version of Lee. Oh the 80's. The start of all bad trends.
