GTKY: What are you going to miss most about being pregnant after you deliver?

Re: Tuesday Twin Check In 4/21

  • Week/Fruits: My ticker changes on Wed so I'm just going to round up: 33 weeks/ Durian

    Twin Type (Identical/Fraternal/etc): Fraternal boy/girl

Symptoms: swollen ankles, feet, and hands.

Appointment AW: We have a biophysical ultrasound in Thursday.

Questions/Comments/Complaints/Concerns: I am concerned with going into labor earlier than 38 weeks. My doctor started talking about C-section at our appt last week because baby A is breech and B is transverse so 38 weeks would be our goal to get to but I didn't even think about what if I go into labor earlier.

GTKY: What are you going to miss most about being pregnant after you deliver?

I think I'm going to miss my 2nd trimester cute bump and feeling them move around.

    Di/Di girls

Achy back and cramps in my lower abdominal area. Waking up at 3 am on the dot to eat my yogurt and like 3 cutie tangerines :)

Dr. appointment this Thursday. I'll most likely be getting the steroid shot to speed up the girls' lung development since my cervix is thinning and softening. (Yeah me!)

@hailee8706 I am nervous too about going into labor early. My Dr. thinks I could go in as little as 2 weeks! I'll be about 35 weeks which is about average but it is still scary. I think the scariest part is having them go into the NICU.

Do any of you plan of breastfeeding? I just ordered the my brestfriend twin nursing pillow because it had awesome reviews. Anyone used one before? Just nervous to feed 2 at a time and that thing makes it look a whole lot easier!

I don't think there is much I will miss about being pregnant after I deliver. I love feeling them move but after I'll actually be holding them:)
  • Week/Fruits: 30 - cucumbers

Twin Type (Identical/Fraternal/etc): Fraternal team green

Symptoms: Nesting is out of control but I also feel like I could sleep forever - once I can get comfortable lol

Appointment AW: Ultrasound yesterday. Still in Ying yang position - A vertex B breech. Both measuring 3 lbs 4 oz. Had a hard time getting a measurement on A's head because it's already engaged.

Questions/Comments/Complaints/Concerns: Holy pelvic pain and pressure. I still can't get used to the swelling. My feet aren't swollen but every once in a whole my legs and feet go numb.

GTKY: What are you going to miss most about being pregnant after you deliver?

I actually like being pregnant lol chances are good that this might be our last pregnancy. I think I'll miss all of it - the anticipation of getting a peek of the little miracle on the ultrasounds, seeing how the baby is developing every week, feeling the kicks for the first time. Plus I have Ulcerative Colitis and I naturally go into remission when I'm pregnant LOL
  • Week/Fruits: 31/ pineapple

    Twin Type (Identical/Fraternal/etc): fraternal

Symptoms: Not much, just some Braxton hicks here and there.

    Appointment AW: tomorrow!

Questions/Comments/Complaints/Concerns: baby A is head down and right at my cervix as head butting down there is so uncomfortable it makes me nervous because I have a shortened cervix. Anyone else have a baby super low?

GTKY: What are you going to miss most about being pregnant after you deliver? My husband doing most of the work around the house :)
  • @tdotson0722 baby a is really low for me too. The dr. made a joke saying she was about to fall out X_X I feel like no matter what you do, sit, stand or lay down you feel like a baby is gonna fall out lol!
  • @jjvanwagner25 yeah it drives me crazy!! He's been head down for atleast 11 weeks. I'm like damn how strong is my cervix?! Lol
  • @tdotson0722 Oh yeah. I have a stubborn cervix so I'm not too worried, but it makes me wonder how fast labor is going to go if it already feels like the babe is gonna fall out haha with our son my cervix didn't dilate through 4 wks of prodromal labor and I had 24 hours of early labor at (barely) 3 cm. During delivery he got stuck on my cervix. My midwife had to actually pull it out of the way. I'm looking forward to getting an epidural this time!

That's the nursing pillow I got too! This will be my first time using it, though
  • Week/Fruits: 31/pineapple

Twin Type (Identical/Fraternal/etc): fraternal team green

Symptoms: groggy in the morning even though I sleep well, tired legs by the end of the day. But, really nothing major to complain about.

Appointment AW: growth ultrasound today. Baby A is transverse low in my pelvis, weighs 3 lbs 6 oz. Baby B is breech on my right side, weighs 3 lbs 12 oz. Will start NSTs weekly on Friday.

Questions/Comments/Complaints/Concerns: I'm doing very well with my post meal readings for GD, but I cannot figure out a pattern to my high fasting numbers. They are consistently between 95-100. Doc isn't rushing to medicate me, because my post meal numbers are pretty low. (1 hour ranges from 80-120, probably average 110). She's worried that if I take meds I may go hypoglycemic. She said to try NOT having a bedtime snack, but I get SO hungry in the evening. Also that seems to be opposite of what I've read. It's frustrating trying to figure out how to manage the fasting numbers.

GTKY: What are you going to miss most about being pregnant after you deliver?

Hmmmm, Probably the ability to sleep as long as I want.
  • @423ang sorry you're dealing with GD. I have no experience with it but it sounds like no fun! I would die without a night time snack or a 3am snack! There's 2 babies in there lol we get hungry!
  • @tdotson0722 @vflor87 here's to hoping our cervix stay strong!
  • I'm so glad I'm not the only one getting out of bed at night to eat LOL
  • >Week/Fruits: 33 weeks durian ( whatever the f that is)

Twin Type (Identical/Fraternal/etc): fraternal boy/ girl

    Symptoms:

: just sore body, feeling like I got hit by a truck- Pressure on my cervix and having to pee every hour

Appointment AW: ultrasound and dr apt this Friday.

    Questions/Comments/Complaints/Concerns:

feeling pretty good, just hoping they are both growing well. My belly is now at the point where it has taken over all of my pregnant gfs carrying singletons. Circus freak belly is full force.

GTKY: What are you going to miss most about being pregnant after you deliver?

Being able to sleep or have a long baths whenever I want. I'm trying to convince my husband that I need a nice Inground hot tub put in our yard. I am having twins after all ;)

  • @423ang I'm not sure if this will make you feel any better but my dr recommends fasting numbers to be less than 100. She said she's a little more lenient than most Drs. I'd assume that if she's recommending this then it may not be such a big deal if your fasting numbers are 95-100. That's just me assuming, I am new to this I was just diagnosed with GD on Friday. Hopefully though, you can get yours down; I'd die if I couldn't have a snack before bed.
  • @MandyMichelle3 Thanks! At my first appt after monitoring for a couple of weeks, my doc didn't seem concerned about the high 90s. But at the last appt, she noticed they were all up there (but still almost always below 100).

I don't think I can do no snack at night. I've tried SO many options, and honestly it doesn't matter if I have nuts, or cottage cheese, or cheese and crackers, or ice cream. The numbers are always right around the same.

Oh well, not too much longer to go!
  • @Emilywooddesign I feel like a circus freak too! I do not think this belly can grow or stretch anymore. I really think my skin is gonna rip before I go into labor lol. Here's what I'm working with and i swear I bump everyone and evrything with it! X_X

Well I vote for ice cream if the numbers are always the same. Lol!
  • My boys have been so active tonight! Geez!! They are crazy lol! It's so cute but geez it hurts sometimes!! Then I get a sensation down below when they kick as well sometimes. Wild boys!
  • @tdotson0722 mine actually hurts sometimes too! Almost like a stomach ache, is that how you feel? Also tender in some spots?
  • @tdotson0722 @jjvanwagner25 sometimes my twins' movements trigger round ligament pain. My stomach is sensitive to the touch though. I'm not sure if it's from how much my skin is stretching, but every time I bump into something or our toddler gets rambunctious, it hurts
