Broken waters question FTM

Hi all, WARNING GRAPHIC TMI haha
38 weeks, FTM... This morning when I stood up I experienced what felt like a gush of fluid, clear with some white stringy bits in it, and my midwife told me to come in to have it checked right away.. After a quick exam (no test strip, just visual) she said there wasn't enough fluid for it to be broken waters. Fast forward to this evening, I stood up from lying down on the couch to a DEFINITE gush of clear fluid, and when I sat on the toilet thinking I peed myself I realized I was dripping clear fluid, then pink tinged fluid.
It is not a constant gush and I'm not having contractions but I did have diarrhea immediately after (maybe nerves haha) Does this sound like broken waters? I think it would be strange to start labor hours after she just told me I was not leaking fluid or even dilated! Pregnancy is too confusing!
