water just broke no contractions!?

I'm 39 week's today! I was woken up by fluid running down my leg so I went to the toilet and I basically exploded :/ little dots of blood not much though. Changed my pants and called my midwife. Not sure what's going on as I don't have any contractions? For the past week I've lost my mucus plug, loose stools lightening crotch on and off.. my midwife told me to put a pad on and wait a hour and see what happens... freaking out!

    I had the same thing happen. I had to go to the hospital because I was gbs positive. They will likely tell you to stay home and wait for contractions if you aren't. Best of luck

    Eat something and take a nap. You're going to have a busy day and you'll need the energy later. Trust your care team and don't waste it worring now.

    I was 18 hours from when my water broke with DD and the first contraction. Get some rest now and save up your energy!

    That happened to me and I started getting contractions about 8 hours later and went into active labour 12 hours later. My midwife wouldn't let me go more than 24 hours without being induced after my waters broke and as she said in the hospital 'u are not leaving here without a baby' :D sounds like u are going to meet ur little baby soon, best of luck xx

    They do want you to go into labor within 24 hours due to risk of infection. My midwife said 90% of women will begin contractions within that time frame after your water breaks. I was one of the unlucky 10% so I had to be induced.

    My dr said that legally you have to be delivered within 24 hours of your water being broken. Not sure if it works the same if it naturally breaks.

    When my water broke contractions didn't start for 1.5hrs. I was told to go straight to the hospital because I have crazy fast labors.. 5hrs later my son was born.

    Baby Girl: 7/29/11
    Angel Baby: M/C 7/15/14 at 7wk
    BFP: 8/23/14 - Due 4/28/15  - It's a BOY!

    My water broke at 4:30am and I called the hospital. Because I was strep b positive they told me to come. I showered, had breakfast and headed to the hospital. My contractions begin about an hour after my water broke
