Days and nights mixed up!

My baby is about to be 2 months and she still doesn't know the difference between day and night I started a routine with bath, bottle, sleepbut she still is not getting it. It seems like she wakes up more with the bath, what should I do?

Re: Days and nights mixed up!

  • Only advice I have is to keep her awake as much as possible (while still making sure she gets enough sleep) during the day. Feed her and the. Just bsr bust for an hour or two before letting her go to sleep. Don't let her sleep longer than a couple hours, repeat. At night she should be so tired from the day that she will gladly sleep! Good luck!

  • I'm having the same problem at six weeks. If you figure it out, let me know ! :)
  • Maybe switch the bath routine to the morning?
  • One thing that helped me was I made sure when my daughter slept during the day it was bright and noisy and when it was bedtime I fed her with almost no light and no sound. I try to keep her awake as much as I can in the afternoon.
  • My daughter struggled for awhile. Bath time needs to be morning for us. She gets a bottle at 7:30/8...i swaddle her..bring her to the nursery...at 10:30 i prep a bottle, change her diaper, then feed her. I change her first due to if she awakes, the bottle puts her out. I also swaddle again afterwards and feed in dim lighting with no sound.
  • Lights on during the day & dark at night. Wake her up during the day every 2.5-3 hours to eat. And I think the swaddle is a huge signal for them!
  • Thank you so much lady's!
  • Another thing that i have found out that helps is dont do naps and night time in the same bed. With my kids during the day they are in the swing or bouncer or with me. Then when its time to go to bed i would put them in their crib or bassinet. Somehow they can tell a difference.
