Where is everyone at with their weight gain?.. The only part I dislike about pregnancy

Im sure there is a past post on weight gain but I wanted to ask and get the recent 411 on everyone.. I'm 19 weeks 4 days and so far I've gained a total of 8 lbs. Probably more now after the junk I've eaten the past two days.. I have had problems with body image in the past and when I was really young in high school I suffered from an eating disorder for almost 7 years.. I am much better now and have been for many years when it comes to the eating disorder however I still will always have that fear of gaining too much weight..that part never goes away unfortunately. I am a very healthy person and was finally at a good place when I got pregnant. I'm just afraid my old disease will come back after baby when my body has REALLY changed. So frustrating and sickening. I know I shouldn't be worried about it but I really can't help it. Sorry just had to get that of my chest!

  • You're doing great for weight gain! I've gained 20+ pounds (haven't stepped on the scale in a while). I'm terrified of gaining too much weight after loosing 110 lbs in the last couple of years. It's very hard to watch the numbers on the scale go up not knowing if it's because I'm eating like crap, or baby. I can definitely see /understand (to a point) where you're coming from that's for sure.

  • I'm 20w 2d & have gained 2lbs. I had nausea & sickness the first 15 wks & dropped some weight.
  • I'm 17 weeks! last week at docs I had gained 5 pounds in 4 weeks! Making it a total of 8 pounds for me to. I am already overweight, I don't look how much I weigh, never have, when I was skinny I still weighed as much as as muscular guy, it's so weird. Alot of the reason I was scared to ever be pregnant was because of gaining more weight. I have DD boobs with out being pregnant. I totally understand how you feel. But I think 8 pounds is great at this point. I'm trying to stay under 10 pounds by 20 weeks. My doctor told me I should try not to gain more than 15 the whole pregnancy! Talk about pressure! MY goal is no more than 25 but trying for 20. YOUR Body WILL Do what it has to do! You can't get to discouraged, you will lose it after baby. My girlfriend said just by delivering she walked out the hospital 30 pounds lighter! Gained a total 50, had 20 to lose. She looks great now!
  • I am 18 weeks and have gained 20 lbs. I had no morning sickness what so ever and have instead had issues with my legs and hips that cut down on my ability to stay active. It's been a bit of a downer because I'd lost 60 lbs a year before my pregnancy but I'm trying not to worry to much about it.
  • Went for my 17 weeks appointment today and I'm up 14 lbs. Right on track for where I was the first time around. Looks like I may have another chunky baby boy :)

  • 18 weeks. Same weight/up one lb on some days.
  • 19 weeks and last appointment I was at 7lbs so I'm hoping too have hit 10lbs by Wednesday

  • 17 weeks gained 5lbs. I was 30 lbs overweight already so they told me no more than 20 for the whole thing......
  • I'm 17 weeks and started out right on the cusp of underweight. I had gone up around 9 pounds, but after a stomach bug and some major stress, I lost 5 between my 12 week and 16 week :( I don't weigh myself outside of the doctor, and aside from my midwife letting me know if I'm doing okay with it or not, I don't ask so that I don't stress myself out about something I don't need to be stressed about. I've never had an eating disorder, my size has really just been nature, but it still isn't easy seeing the pounds go on.
  • I am 19 weeks, I lost 6 lbs in the first trimester and have gained back 2 lbs. So I'm still down 4 lbs. Really hoping to stay under 25 lbs this time. I gained 48 with my first and 30 with my second.

  • I am right there with you! I went through that when I was younger and got through it with counseling and taking lots of classes on nutrition and exercise. The last 5 years or so I have had the healthy mindset of "I'm working out and eating to be healthy and strong, not skinny." But now that I'm pregnant I'm the biggest I've ever been in my life and it's terrifying! I'm still doing my best to make healthy eating choices, I haven't been "eating for two" or powering down fast food or junk food. I'm still working out at the gym consistently and trying to keep my workouts as normal as possible. But I've still gained 22 pounds so far at only 18 weeks! I don't even know how to stop it because I'm doing everything right! If I didn't have my SO to talk sense into my ridiculous head I would be a crazy mess. Hang in there!

  • Almost 20 weeks and I'm surprised that I have only gained 7 pounds.
  • It's really hard to compare when everyone's bodies are so different. I'm 19 weeks today and up 13lbs. Try to stay off the scale! I know it's easier said than done because I used to weigh myself every day but I have been trying to stay off too.
  • 20 +3 I have gained 24# expecting twins but very hard to see numbers keep climbing when you eat right and stay active

  • I will be 20 weeks tomorrow. I lost 14 lbs in the first trimester and have only gained 7 lbs back so far.

  • 19 weeks 3 days gained 7 pounds. We are all so different! Our bodies will grow how baby needs us to. Its hard to think about having to lose baby weight but thinking about the reason we are doing it makes it all worth it. I just try not to stress it and be as healthy as i can be!

  • I'm 20 weeks and I finally gained a pound from my prepregnancy weight. I was starting to feel like I was harming my baby because I couldn't put on weight to save my life!
  • 20 weeks and roughly 10 lbs. I struggle with the idea of gaining weight but I try not too step on the scale too often. I just pay attention to my patterns and my body. If I've had a few days where my eating hasn't been the best and/or I've been less active, I just try to adjust and plan some really healthy meals and some time to get some exercise. For what it's worth, I think if you're healthy and active normally, you'll lose the weight fairly quickly. I was 15 lbs lighter the day I came home from the hospital after my first and the rest of the weight came off within 3 months. I had to work at it, but it wasn't impossible.
  • I'm 19w2d and I have gained 15 lbs. I went to the doctor yesterday and she said my weight gain was totally fine so far. I didn't have any morning sickness at all so I have been eating pretty well since the beginning... Lol

  • 19 weeks 4 days, lost 10 lbs the first trimester, back up by 8 lbs now so technically -2lbs pre pregnancy. But I was "overweight" before pregnancy, so for my health it's not necessary for me to gain as much as someone who was a healthy weight or under weight pre pregnancy. All of our bodies are completely different so you really have to just go off what your doctor tells you is healthy for you and your child.

  • 18 weeks today and in the beginning of my pregnancy I lost 2 lbs and yesterday at my doctor I gained them back so I guess 2 lbs ? Or 0 I don't know but either way I feel like it's too much! My doctor said I should only gain about 15 to 25 lbs my whole pregnancy. You're not the only one worried about this girl.
  • 18+4, still down 15 pounds. First trimester kicked my butt and now I can finally eat but I'm pretty sure my stomach shrank because I can't over eat or I get sick!
