Hoping for some HELP! (Warning-Loss post)

Hello,

I found out I was having my third miscarriage on April 2nd. A large hematoma grew and basically suffocated my baby. I was 9 weeks. I went in on April 7th for a D&C. The doc and I agreed the D&C was best because we wanted to control any bleeding from the very large hematoma. After the procedure, the doc said everything went well, actually better than expected because they only had to use suction and not scrapping so a lower risk for scar tissue and very little bleeding. I only had light spotting the day of the procedure and after that just a brown spot here and there, barely needed a panty liner.

Today is 10 days after the D&C and I woke up to horrible cramps and heavy period like bleeding with lots of clots. I am also having back pain and nausea. I called and left a message with my doc this morning and again a few minutes ago but I haven't heard anything. All the nurse could tell me was if it concerns you, go to the ER. I don't want to panic and go to the Er to find out it is normal but this seems weird to me. I know Dr's say to only worry if you are filling a pad an hour but I am confused and alarmed. While I am not filling a pad an hour, I am bleeding steady. I think its too early for my period and too long after the D&C to have such awful pain and heavy bleeding. With my first miscarriage I also had a D&C and never had pain and cramping this bad.

Anyone have any thoughts. I apologize for the graphic detail!

Thank you ladies! I wasn't sure where else to post this. I don't want to upset anyone or bring back any painful memories, but I am just so confused and overwhelmed by all this.

I'm sorry for your losses. There are several women on here who have experience with this. Hopefully one of them will be able to give you some thoughts or advice.

I would call your Dr back and demand to speak with him. It seems like he should have given you more information on what to expect post d&c

I was told to expect bleeding for about a week after the D&C and the regular speech about fever, extreme pain and filling a pad an hour means go to the ER. I am taking Advil so I don't know if I have a fever. The REI clinic at Walter Reed closes at 3pm on Friday's so I can't call back. I did call twice today though. I am hoping the doctor will call me back after clinic hours especially since it is Friday. They have to do paperwork at sometime right? This honestly feels like a period but that seems too early. I REALLY hate going to the ER. I am so frustrated.

I think bleeding post-MC can last longer than that, up to two weeks, especially if there was a hematoma, because that will create extra blood. I believe your period usually returns after 4-6 weeks, but I'm sure there are exceptions. Hopefully you can get some answers!

Yes this. Also OP, @babycarrott can you put a loss warning or graphic in your title? The graphic descriptions of suction & scraping could be emotionally upsetting for anyone going through something similar that are not ready to see this yet.

@PrimRoseMama , I just added a loss warning. I am newer to the site and truly not trying to upset or offend anyone. I read the dos and dont's and want to make sure I'm following the rules. I apologize again.

I'm so sorry for your loss. You've had enough heartache id go to the dr or ER to be on the safe side and ease your mind.
