Working until you pop

Re: Working until you pop

  • My last day I will be at 39 weeks and 3 days. Was planning on going until the 40 week mark but I'm in in-home therapist and don't really want my water to break or go into labor in a clients home! I can't wait to be home. The past two weeks have been trying.

  • I'm a teacher and I was having bad contractions right before our state test and my coworkers freaked out a bit. LOL Needless to say thy sent me home and put in for my long term sub. So I'm on my leave a bit early. I wanted to work right up until I had my baby, but in hindsight it's for the best I'm at home and not contracting at school in front of my elementary students.
  • I'm glad I chose to leave a week early! I somehow planned my LOA perfectly and had my daughter on my first day out of work.
  • I worked until my due date, which was last Friday. Now that I'm one week overdue I am SO upset to have lost one week maternity leave with my baby! Keep going those of you still working. It's rough at the end but so much worse to waste leave waiting around.

  • My doctor said it was a good idea for me to take my leave on his due date (Thurs. 4/16). He'll give me until that weekend to have him come on his own otherwise they are going to induce that weekend. He doesn't want me to use too much of my leave just sitting around too since I'm doing ok. I have gestational diabetes so the fact they are letting me go to 40 weeks is pretty interesting but I'm happy about it. I have fetal monitoring twice a week so they are keeping an eye on him.
  • 40 and 1 day. Working thru Thursday this week if no action. Wish me luck!
  • This is my third and my previous two I worked until the end. I'm a personal trainer and group x instructor so my work clothes are comfy and I've always had good clients to work with. This pregnancy I don't work as much as before so I figure I'll keep working again until baby arrives. Besides it makes it more fun teaching class and ladies worried about water breaking.

I'm a teacher. I worked until delivery with both my kids. The best way to speed up those early labor contractions in by walking. I taught during early labor with both my girls. My water broke around 7:00 at night with my first and contactions that were hard to talk through woke me up with my April baby.

I am glad I worked until the end. I would rather have time with my LO after delivery.
