Gift ideas for teenage big brother

My situation is a little unique. I have a 14 year old son and I'm 35 weeks with my second son. Life is about to change drastically for my only child and I'd love to get him something special since so much focus is on baby right now. I'm thinking jewelry from a Christian store we have here but he doesn't wear much jewelry. He's into normal teenage stuff like basketball (playing and watching), rotc/army stuff, and spending time with friends but nothing else really sticks out to me other than jewelry. If you have a teenage boy in your life can you give me some ideas on what to get my kiddo?

Re: Gift ideas for teenage big brother

  • If he doesn't wear jewelry then I wouldn't get him any. He is fourteen. Get him a gift card to game stop or video store so he can have something to do at home while your tending to new baby. Don't know his personality so it's obviously just a suggestion:)

I like the video game idea. Perhaps you can go more of the funny route and get him some ear plugs, lol.

Or a coupon for one mommy/me outing without baby a month?

  • Maybe put together a "big brother kit" it could include stuff like ear plugs, maybe a nose plug for when he changes diapers, and some funny little things like that but then also include thing that are just for him: a new video game, a gift certificate to go see a movie, some of his favourite treats (Since when you actually do get to the grocery store after baby you might not remember to get them every time) , etc.
  • I love the ideas ladies! I hadn't considered something to keep him occupied or something funny! I love it! Thank you for getting going in the right direction!
