My mom made my baby shower the 24th of this month. . . I'll be about 38 weeks I'm worried he may come early. . . Ah! What would you do if you had your baby before the shower?? Is that too weird??
My shower's at week 35 (this weekend) and I'm feeling like it's too late just because I'm so big and tired, but if you have the baby before your shower it's fine too! Have daddy or another male family member/friend watch baby while you get gifts and socialize. Bringing in baby for a little visit is good too, just try to keep everybody from touching all over baby's cute face.
My sister had her baby before her shower. He was there so that was fun.
Franco Paul born 6/4/15 at 39 weeks. Mila Francesca born 10/19/13 at 37 weeks. Both born via C-Section after 6 years of fertility treatments, disappointments and losses. Love them!!
I had DD1 before the baby shower. It was the day I came home with her from the hospital. Everyone was saying I didn't even look pregnant and I would just smile.
The funny part was they had walked right past her and not even seen her in the bassinet. Finally someone else said,"how are you so small? Aren't you due next month?" I showed her to them. As soon as everyone realized that she was there it was all about her. I was glad to have the attention off of me but I was worried about people touching my preemie.
Thankfully I had her swaddled and she was sleeping so no one picked her up or touched her.
To me it wasn't a big deal. It's kind of nice because once the baby wakes up, the party is over and everyone goes home. Lol
I missed two showers with DD1! She was born the day of the first shower and the second shower was the next day (when I was in the hospital). It was kind of fun because they brought the shower to the hospital, and we had a good time!
