Baby's position?

Bumping from my phone - sorry if there are a bunch of posts like this already!!

So long story but brief is baby is not head down. He was transverse and then moved head up.

I'm 34 weeks so there's some time still.

Just wanted to know if anyone else had this and baby flipped? Or good suggestions?

I have my next appt at 36 weeks so hoping he can flip between now and then.

Re: Baby's position?

  • I'd love suggestions too! I'm 32 weeks and baby is transverse and I'm so uncomfortable! All suggestions welcome, thanks! :)

  • I was breech til 32w - I did a lot of cleaning floors, wiggling ass up in the air when kneeling etc. I don't know if it was me or baby but it flipped by 34w :)
  • 36 weeks today, and still breech! I have ultrasound appt on Wednesday and doc might flip baby by hand next week. But I heard success rate is like a 20%. Will see... Mentally, I'm getting ready for c section.
I am doing flipping poses, I shall find out on Wednesday.

The OB thinks mine is finally head down this morning at 35 weeks. I get a u/s next week to make sure. Some of them just like to take their time!

You need to focus on positions/movements that give the baby more room to maneuver. Sit with your legs apart (so ladylike) and maybe stick an extra pillow between them at night. Find things to do that put you on your hands and knees (having an older child to play with is actually great for this). Unfortunately though it's one of those things that in the end, you can't 100% control.

  • Me too.. Almost 33 weeks and baby is breech. Dr wants to try by hand 35/36 weeks if it doesn't happen on its own by then
  • Mine is a mover. She tends to be head up when I'm laying down and then goes head down during the day. Wouldn't worry unless labor has started.

My Baby was breech from 26-36 weeks, then was transverse at my 36 week check up I just had an ultrasound this morning 37weeks and he is head down crowned in the cervix so don't worry they'll get there.
  • My guy is head down face forward. Two weeks ago he was face back. Dr said it doesn't matter till I go in labor and baby will move lots more till then. Wait it out a bit!
  • Thanks guys!

I have accepted that c sections happen so if I have to get one I have to get one. I just don't want to get one because baby can't figure out which way is down lol.

  • Trust your body and baby to know what to do. That was the most important advice my doula friend gave me when I asked her. Mine didn't go head down until week 35, and my doctor always told me that baby could flip anytime up until delivery.
