She's here! early induction success

I mostly lurk here, but replied now and then when I thought I could be helpful. So, I thought I would share an early induction story and a picture of one 'May' baby. We were due May 6th, but last Tuesday at work I felt a little light headed, so I went to the school nurse to have my BP checked. I was high risk from the beginning due to a clotting disorder, but because at 33 weeks, my feet and ankles began to swell drastically, and this was my first pregnancy, I was also being watched for preeclampsia at this point. Anyway, because I had risk factors for pre-e, my dr. sent me to L and D at the hospital. This turned into my staying overnight for observation, which turned into lab results confirming not only preeclampsia, but also a downward trend in my health... So they induced labor at 35 weeks, almost 2 days gestation. It was a long labor, 34 hours involving Cytotec, a foley bulb, lots of pitocin, and a failed epidural (it made my blood pressure drop and baby's heart rate drop drastically-so scary!), she was born! A happy, healthy, early Easter blessing! She is doing great! She was given a 9 on the Apgar scale, 4 minutes after birth and will be able to go home with me. Although almost nothing went as planned, she's here and it was all worth it. Weighing in at 4 lbs, 12 oz, Miss Adeline Faith
