Eat as well as you can and keep drinking water. Weight from cookies and weight from healthy snacks are 2 different things. My sil gains 50-60 lbs with all 5 of her kids. She bounces right back to form and has healthy babies. Relax and enjoy the ride!
I have excersized the entire time and ate healthy for the most part and drank tons of water and am still gaining 30 lbs too! My docs are very nice and never say it's too much..they say if I'm trying to be healthy that's all that matters and keep doing what I'm doing. So what I am saying is that it doesn't matter how hard you try..it's going to happen! It just depends on what your body does when you are pregnant..everyone is different!
I've gained that much so far too and I'm almost at 28 weeks. It sucks but then I think who the hell cares?! As long as baby and I are healthy I'm just not gonna stress about it. Get outside take some walks and enjoy some fresh air that usually makes me feel so much better
I've gained about a lb a week and am 32 weeks. I gained 60 lb with my first and had her 6 weeks early. I lost 75 after working my ass off postpartum. As long as your doctor isn't concerned, and you're not eating everything in sight, don't worry!
I agree. It's hard not to worry but I am right there with you. Not sure exactly how much I've gained but it was around 36 lbs at 28 weeks. Hoping I leveled off some but guess will see at my 30 week appt next week.
I am 28 weeks and have gained about 35lbs. My midwife thinks it's too much too fast but is not overly concerned and baby and I are healthy by all other measures. In my first trimester I didn't have an appetite and so nauseous I couldn't eat. It worried me a lot and then when I felt better I guess I was so relieved I overdid it with eating. Plus I like being outside to exercise and am always less active in the winter. My midwife said I should try to cut down on carbs and walk 30 minutes a day. That's really do-able. I'm getting ready to go for a walk now!
There is a massive thread on weight that recently went quiet. If you really want to discuss weight, people will appreciate if you at least keep it in one place. I am of the unpopular opinion here that we should be able to discuss weight as one indicator of health. Most people seem to feel it just contributes to the societal unhealthy approach to vanity. Regardless, you will find many women on here really hate the topic.
Obviously you should proceed how you want. But assuming and hoping what you want is a gauge of how this fits a spectrum of normal, search for that other weight thread, and you will see many responses.
General consensus, regardless of where you stand on hating or not caring about the topic of weight, there is general consensus this should be a topic for your doctor if you are concerned.
I stopped looking at the scale when I go to the doctors and I ask the nurse not to say the weight out loud. It would get me so upset that I felt it wasn't worth it. And I'm a much happier person because of it. The last time I looked (around 27 weeks), I had gained 25lb (and lord knows I've gained more since then now that I'm 31 weeks! haha) But I also was extremely sick in the beginning and lost 12lbs. So far, only one OB in the practice has said something and it was along the lines of "the bigger you are, the bigger the baby is." Well, then I'm growing him or her big! I eat fairly healthy (sweets in moderation), drink a ton of water and go for walks for as long as my bladder will hold. I refuse to be body shamed because I'm growing a human. If I'm big, so be it. Try not to fret.
I gained a lot of weight with dd # 1, I ate good and I continued a small work out routine for the majority of the preganncy and I couldn't stop gaining weight. I stopped looked at the scale at the doctor, it stressed me out. This pregnancy I am doing the exact same thing as the first and I have gained 15 so far at 29 weeks. So I have no idea what the difference is.

I sent MH to the store last night for dessert and he came back with: cherry pie, yogurt pretzels, m&ms, AND a Jello no-bake cheesecake with a jar of berry topping! I only had some pie and a few pretzels, though. I think this turned into FFSC!
Weight gain happens. Try not to be to hard on yourself. Eat healthy, walk daily, and just enjoy the fact you are creating a miracle!!! No good can be gained by comparing yourself to others.
Savoring FroYo Saturday.. Peanut butter fudge cake gelato with mini PB cups, Oreos, animal crackers, and mini mnms as toppings. There will also be candy tomorrow.
