How many weeks to hear heartbeat?

How many weeks were you when you were able to hear/see heartbeat on u/s? My dr has me come in for first u/s today and I just realized I am only 6w 6 d. Is it too early to hear/see heartbeat?  With DD I went in at 8.5 weeks so it was completely different. Had a previous MC so so nervous :(((

Re: How many weeks to hear heartbeat?

  • I wad able to see it yesterday at 6 weeks 3 days.

  • I was able to hear my baby's heartbeat yesterday at 7 weeks 1 day.
  • My first U/S was exactly 6 weeks and we couldn't hear the heartbeat. Doc was confident that everything was ok, just too early to hear it. Going back on Tuesday for repeat at exactly 8 weeks.
  • We seen the heartbeat at 6 weeks 2 days. But I am thinking I am farther along than that. I think it's normal not to hear it at 6 weeks. I have to go back at 8 weeks too as ultrasound showing baby farther behind than cycles, but I'm not too worried as I always ovulate late.
  • I went in thinking I was 8weeks, but I was only 6w4d. We were able to see heartbeat.

The prev week I had an ultrasound what I thought was 7 weeks, and it was too early to see baby or HB. Makes sense now. Just be patient!
  • Went to the dr and saw a wonderful strong heartbeat and a little baby! So relieved!

Thank you ladies you kept me from going crazy with worry! Can't wait to go through this journey together :)
  • You can usually see and hear it by 6 weeks
  • This is good to know! I went to my first appointment 4/1 and was only 5 weeks5 days. I got a transvaginal U/S ( I think that's what it's called). Dr wants me back in two weeks so hopefully we can hear the heartbeat then :)
  • I went at 5 weeks and 6 days and didn't see anything. When I came back at 6 weeks 3 days I saw and heard it! Hang in there
  • Went in today at 5w6d to check viability and while we weren't able to hear it, we did see a faint flicker that the US tech said was the heart! My friend who's a midwife had cautioned me that we might not see anything though!
