I went to buy sour candy today because of this same issue. I heard lemonheads were good but my store didn't have any!! So I got sour jelly belly & sour patch kids. I'll report back after I've had some time to test.
Preggie pops helped me a ton last time. I'm going to buy more today. Last time I got them at motherhood maternity and babies R us. Sour candy helped a little too. The preggie pop plus has B6 in it so I think that's what really helped.
Smelling peppermint oil helps me too. And eating candied ginger. For some reason sippping sweet iced tea has helped me both times too.
Try Chimes ginger chews. They come in different flavors to mask the taste of the ginger. The peanut butter are my favorite. You can get them in specialty food stores but you can also order them online. Definitely worth a try!
Preggie pops help because they have essential oils in them, which regular candy doesn't. But some people have just as much luck with sour candy as they do with preggie pops.
Trader joes makes organic lollipops that are tasty and tart enough to help with the nausea. They're also pretty cheap at 2.99 per pack. I'm trying everything I can think of, so far wearing a pair of seabands has helped the most!
Yeah you do @NovemberBaby2! I did a lot of damage there during midnight feedings last time The UPS man saw us almost daily with new baby times I had to have!
Mint hard candies helped me last time and they seem to be helping this time as well. Sour just makes my mouth water and feel pukey. You could also try gum.
I got some b-natal green apple candies off amazon, took my first one, puked about an hour later. Now I have a negative association I'm also nauseated 24/7. 6w4d.
The preggie pops worked for the first week or so for me and now they're not helping as much. Sour patch also makes Popsicles and they've helped a lot the last few days. The candy makes my stomach hurt.
Preggie pops did not help me with my first pregnancy. I was so sick. The only thing that helped me was Zofran. I'm pregnant now (5w5d), and not sick yet. Hoping my second pregnancy is different!
Ok so I went to babies r us and bought preggie pop drops. They really helped at first but not so much anymore. I'm guessing I need to come up with a few other things that help and kinda take turns with them. ??
@NovemberBaby2 sign up for Amazon Mom (if you're in the US, it's different names in other countries I believe) but it is prime with other perks. And it's cheaper I believe.
The preggie pops did wonders at first but as I continue to feel nauseated 24/7 when I pop one in my mouth I instantly gag. I think I've developed an aversion to them. Got a prescription for zofran today.
The preggo pops didn't work well, but I use lemon drops and those sour twitter straw things. Gingerale helps too. Also the vinegar in pickles naturally helps nausea.
I bought some preggie pops from Amazon when I was pregnant with my son and I hated them. For some reason they didn't seem to help one bit, I much prefer Lemon Heads to suck on when I'm feeling nauseous and those are only like .98 for a box a Walmart.
I have been extremely sick! I just picked up sour patch kids after throwing up in the gas station bathroom. I can tell you now that it's a game changer. All the websites say sour candies. One website I looked at stressed that fact that it should be a sour candy you like, since sour patch are already my favorite I think it's going to work out great!
Does anyone know of anything to help with nausea that's not super sugary? I've been using the preggie pop drops and other sour candy, but all the sugar is getting to me and making me feel just as nauseated in a different way. Any advice?
Lemon drops have worked for me and Preggie Pop Drops work for my friend, I just haven't gotten a chance to order them and now, my nausea has subsided for the most part. **knock on wood!**
Anyone else's mouth hurt from all the sour stuff? The roof of my mouth feels raw I had zero nausea until Tuesday and then it hit! No throwing up (knock on wood!) but just over all yucky feeling.
Currently using preggie pops with this pregnancy. I feel they do help, but I agree with the person who posted about them being too sugary sometimes. When I'm nauseous but don't want sugar I drink ginger tea. For anyone looking for a good place so buy preggie pops, prenatal vitamins, or anything else related to pregnancy/breastfeeding Swanson Vitamins are reasonably priced and you don't have to pay a very high shipping cost.
The preggie pops made my mouth pucker and water so bad that it was worse than the nausea to me. I bought a big bag of individual peppermints and I suck on those most of the day
Yes! Preggie pops work for me! I've never had this much nausea before& found out about these. ..my Publix ordered them for me &they work like a dream. ...I only have to have 1 per day so not too costly
I know this is the third time I've commented on here, but my nausea has been really bad, and I feel sorry for everybody else going through this! Just wanted to share a few things that has helped me today...
Preggie pop drops work ok for me right when I start to feel queasy, but not when I'm completely nauseated.
Pickles helped a lot today as well as plain toast with a little butter.
The best thing I discovered today is lemonade! Hubby bought Simply Lemonade (the brand that's with the Orange juice at the store), and I took a few sips, and much to my surprise I noticed it helping with the nausea! It's a little sweet and tart and has a soothing effect for me...so far.
Also I think drinking more water might help. I tried to increase my water intake as I haven't been drinking much. As a result I think I may have kept things 'flushing' out of my system a little better.
Hope this helps some of you!! I love hearing everyone's tips and have tried many of them!
