Anyone else feel sick and dizzy all the time?

Hello Lovelies,

Just a question, Does anyone else feel super sick and dizzy all the time?

I've been noticing that no matter what i do i'm always super nauseous. I also feel like i'm going to faint 99% of the time. it's so debilitating.

What can I do? What seems to work for y'all?

  • I did during my sixth week and it scared the crap out of me because I constantly felt like I was going to pass out. There really wasn't much that I could do, except make sure to sit down as much as possible and try not to stand up too quickly. As far as being super nauseous, I always try to make sure that I have something in my stomach and it is never empty because that makes it 10x worse. Also, make sure to have some type of hard sour candy on hand to suck on to help with the nausea. If you're still feeling so nauseous and it's hard to do anything because of it then I would talk to your doctor about writing a prescription for an anti-nausea med, as far as over the counter that is safe to take during pregnancy, Unisom works fairly well. It could be the nausea that is causing you to be dizzy or vice versa, when you're pregnant your blood vessels dilate which causes a drop in your blood pressure therefore making you dizzy. I understand how miserable it can be to constantly feel sick and dizzy with no relief throughout the day, when I was pregnant with my son, I was sick like that from start to finish and had to be put on Zofran for it which did help a little bit.

  • When I'm homeI'm fine, but as soon as I get to work that's when the dizziness hits and I start feeling horrible. I try to snack as often as I can and drink lots of fluids and rest whenever I can. I honestly think it's my job that's causing these dizzy spells instead of my pregnacy.
  • Yesterday was the first day that I got dizzy...and after it started I was in a constant state of nausea. Even thinking about it makes me feel sick. Hoping it won't be a recurring thing...I'm a server at olive garden, and I rarely, if ever, get a chance to sit down. Definitely never have time to relax. So hopefully it doesn't happen at work.
  • I've been nauseous for weeks. It's horrible and keeps me bedridden most of the time. We're thinking we will have to tell our family sooner than we planned because they are going to notice how sick I am when they're in town for Easter. Nothing seems to help with the constant pukey feeling. I'm wearing Sea Bands and have tried drinking ginger ale (vernor's with real ginger) and chewing ginger gum. Nothing seems to help though.
  • I'm definitely feeling that way. The only thing that helps is laying down with sea bands but that's not conducive to work. I've really been struggling especially on my commute which is 1.5 hrs on a train.
  • Yes!!!! Everyday..all day!!! It's so annoying! I've never felt so horrible before! I feel like I'm on one of those tea cup rides at the fair and when my husband talks about food it literally almost triggers the urge to throw up! Just typing this is making me feel that way! Honestly keep your stomach filled...I can't eat or bare to even think to eat huge meals so I just snack super lightly whether I want it or not. A banana and peanut butter honestly has been settling well in my stomach or a half cup of oatmeal. I have to put lemons in my water in order to drink it without gagging...it's something about the tartness or sour /bland stuff that work with my nausea. Ginger ale id recommend personally getting more natural. I got a carbonated one (which I don't ever drink soda so that may be why) and it was to intense for my stomach to handle.
  • I feel mild nausea consistently since I reached about 7 1/2 weeks. Unless I eat all the time I can't shake it.
  • Last week was the first time I ever felt dizzy like that. I stayed in bed all day. It went away thankfully the next day but it was such a horrible feeling
  • Yes I've had that feeling since week 4. My doctor prescribed me a really high dose of vitamin D he said it was "record breaking low" and since I took that on Saturday I've felt much better. You could also try b6
  • Same here, although it seems to be getting better as I near week 8. Yogurt has helped, I eat it right away in the morning and it seems to calm my nausea for a bit. The dizziness sucks though, and drinking water makes me feel even more like losing my cookies. I try to go to sleep when it hits, luckily it has been mainly in the evenings. (I have told my husband that oreo blizzards from Dairy Queen help, too. But I made that up, I just wanted an excuse for more ice cream.)
  • Yes I try and keep low calorie healthy snacks around and nibble when I feel it coming on. water helps me, I really focused on how much water I should be drinking and I am feeling much less dizzy. I'm at about 96oz a day - I bought a BPA Free Britta water bottle and this way I have fresh filtered water all day. Feel better hun!

  • I find eating every two hours keeps my nausea at bay...I still feel yucky basically all day but not like I have to puke so I'm counting my blessings there!!
  • I feel dizzy a lot. I'm having twins :) I haven't actually thrown up yet but at night sometimes is when I get nauseous.
  • I have serve nausea and what helps me is ginger ale. Buy a two liter, crackers and pregnancy pops! Just place them by your bed each night and before you even get out of bed eat and drink a little. I'm now at 8 weeks and I feel just so much better.
  • Yes all the time. I'm at the end of the 7 weeks. I usually have ginger ale by my side at night plus some crackers but it's okay at home, it's just when I'm at work is when I feel faint and light headed. I come home and just lay down. I have no Energy... I feel like blah...
  • Hi! I am pregnant with my second child and the nausea is soooo overwhelming. I wake up sick and go to bed sick. I've tried giving in to my cravings, tried eating Saltine crackers, tried ginger ale......so far nothing has worked. I'm miserable right now. It's kind of hard to enjoy this process when I'm constantly feeling nauseous. Wish I could figure out how to get relief throughout the day.
  • Ginger ale did not help me, but sprite has been a huge help. I'm just trying to not think of all the sugar! Good luck!
  • Yesterday I got busy at work and got super dehydrated and was super dizzy. I feel like I have to drink gallons of water a day to fight it. And I never thought eating would be a problem for me ( I LOVE food) but everything makes me nauseous just thinking about it and it take me forever to get through a meal cause I'm gagging. So thankful to be preggo but my goodness this kid is giving me a run for my money!
  • My OB had told me dizzy spells/fainting can be due to low blood sugar. It's important to eat every 2-3 hours and try to make it something high in protein to stabilize the blood sugar longer. She recommended vitamin B6 50 mg twice a day and unisom at night to help with the nausea.
  • This has been a huge problem for me i'm on zofran and its barely helping. Hope it caims down soon so I can function. Same for everyone else!
