kids driving you insane???

Idk if it's just me, but are your kids or step kids driving you crazy? Mine has been whining nonstop for 2 weeks now. And shes super clingy to the point of sitting on top of me while I'm trying to take a nap due to migraines.

Re: kids driving you insane???

  • Oh my goodness my 9year-old daughter is so whiny and it gets on my last nerve. I can't handle it. I have to walk out of the room.

  • I completely understand. My stepdaughter is 8 1/2 acting like she's 5, whining and not doing anything, including not even cutting her own food up. Or whining that shes starving, while I'm cooking, and then eating 2 bites of food, whining that shes full.
  • DD is 18 months so I supposed she has a bit of a reason to be whiny (she can't always communicate what she needs, she can't really handle being over tired, still learning to handle waiting for food etc.) but yes it is driving me crazy. And it makes me feel like such a failure at times. DH has been great at stepping up so I can get a break (especially since I've been working on asking instead of assuming he should just know that I need a break haha silly me!) when I need it. And I know when I go back to teaching tomorrow I am going to miss her like crazy which doesn't make sense either!
  • Oh my gosh, I thought I was the only one. I swear my 3 year old daughter is so bad I've almost cried because it's so frustrating. I don't know what to do with her. Ahhh!
  • My DS has been so needy the last few months omg he's 7 he's pretty independent he does a lot w.o needing constant reminders till lately , geez idk if its because I've been so focused on me and he picks up on that but now he's pushing my buttons my DH has taken over in the daily activities because I get a head ache and then nauseous, I felt so guilty thinking it was just me dealing with this but I c its not omg!!!!!

  • My son has been more than usual as well. And clings to me like no other. He hangs in to my leg while I'm trying to walk. But I can't complain because he is always kissing my leg! Lol and he just constantly has to have my attention. At all times.
  • I have a 3 year old as well  and I feel horrible but the she drives me crazy right now sometimes. I am glad I am not the only one that feels that way.
  • yes, and I feel terrible! I work full time and the weekend is my only uninterrupted time with my little girl and she drives me insane.  She is four and has been super demanding and if I tell her one thing, its another and I lose my temper more times than I can admit - but seriously, how many times do you need to be told to get off the stairs before you fall?? Or for the love of god please just pick out a book and get into bed, you do not need every single stuffed animal stuffed in the back of your closet to sleep with you @-)
  • Ugh it's so bad! My 3 step kids all stayed the weekend and I was ready to murder my oldest 8 year old ss. He was sooo whiny and never took no for an answer. Arguing with an 8 year old why he can't have a light up singing toothbrush for 15 minutes in target was not my idea for an ideal Saturday afternoon. My husband started calling me a tooth brush nazi. I was going to explode.
  • Yes. My two have been super bonkers. The only saving grace is that I've moved their bed time up so at least there's a little peace and quiet from 730 until I fall asleep at 9. :)
Not sure where everyone else is but we're in boston and I can't wait to let them free outside to burn off this energy. It's been a loooong winter (actually snowing right now). At this point I can't tell if it's he cabin fever or hormones.
  • I swear my daughter knows something is going on. She's 22 months, and has never been very cuddly until the last month, and now she will not stop climbing all over me, and snuggling with me. Sometimes, though, she's too rough. Mostly I just wish I didn't feel so sick all the time so I could enjoy the snuggles more while she's the only one :'(
