Snarky response to announcement...

Re: Snarky response to announcement...

  • I cannot believe how rude and insensitive people are.  My cousin, who I am very close to responded with "Oh i'm surprised because all i've ever heard from you is that you hate kids.  Was this planned or an accident?  You know you're going to have to get rid of your pets now, right?"  Seriously?!?!?  I didn't even respond to her.  And now my MIL (who I don't talk to anymore, because she doesn't like that I stick up for myself when she puts me and her son down) tells my FIL that I should be done with the morning sickness by now and she doesn't believe that I am still sick!   Are you freaking kidding me lady?  How the hell do you know what MY body should and shouldn't be doing?!  Just because you only had it the first trimester has nothing to do with me!   I can't wait to spend time with extended family on Easter to see what other wonderful comments they have for me, or unwanted advice!    And I swear if anyone wants to point out how huge I am this summer, they are likely to receive a punch in the face!

  • I usually never post but it's good to hear I'm not the only one getting crazy comments. Usually I chalk it up to being pregnant and overreating but I've heard it all... We already have two boys so I already knew my family's reaction but we were all sitting down and by husband announced we were expected everyone just stared at me. Complete silence. Then my dad started tearing up (not tears of joy). After that things went back to normal until I started to show (17wks now) and my mom told me I should really try to cover up my belly because I look bigger than I should. We've heard things from other family members immediately after announcing asking when my husband would get a vasectomy or "what will you do if it's not a girl" oh idk maybe love him? Lol.. It's good to vent.

@cmherfi827 WOW if anyone told me I'd "have to get rid of my pets" because I'm pregnant, I'd probably slap them lol. My pets have been my children for years and they're going to protect and defend my little one with all their heart. I think that's pretty amazing for a child to have!! My pets are my family, and this baby's family, and they aren't going anywhere. It pisses me off when people think pets are expendable.

Also, I can totally relate to you about a snarky family member getting "annoyed" with how sick I've been. Like really?! YOU'RE annoyed that I've been miserable for MONTHS?? Uhmmm.... Ok??? All I can say about that is clearly people like that are miserable and just want everyone else to be miserable. It's disgusting how selfish some people can be.

@brittanyamcrae my mouth literally dropped when I read your mom said you should cover up your belly at 17 weeks. WOW. That's sooo messed up. Seriously? For one, your pregnant with your third child so your going to show sooner with this little one than your other pregnancies. And for two, a mother's baby bump is a beautiful thing that should be marveled at and loved by the family! Not shunned and told it should be hidden. Shame on your mom for saying that to you. Forget that crap! Show off your beautiful bump! And as for the jerks who insinuated that you shouldn't have any more children, they obviously are just jealous that you have three beautiful bundles of joy and are miserable in their own lives so they want to bring you down. Forget them! Congrats on your pregnancy! Keep your head up girl. :D
