Still a work in progress, but here's the idea! Hubby and I have season tickets to our lacrosse team, so we figured that was good way to announce! We will be posting it on their last regular season game, which happens to be 2 days after our ultrasound! so excited!!!
Here is ours! Our little goofball, Lyla, she loves babies and will be an awesome big sister! We just posted earlier this week. We had to hurry to do it since this is our second and my belly is popping already, people were starting to get suspicious!
I have been dwelling on this for weeks. I use Facebook a lot and have a lot of people in the community, and old friends I will inform with a post. I love love love looking at unique and cute announcements. However, my husband and I are not super sweet and cute kind of people so while I LOVE looking at these pictures, whenever I think of ones for us to do it doesn't seem authentic to us. We have been together since high school (almost 12 years!) and I know people are going to be thrilled we are finally having a baby, so I want it to be clear what is being announced, but also true to us. My most recent idea is simply posting the ultrasound pic we have taken in a few weeks with the status, "So, we're having a kid."
I feel like it's unique because of how simple it is and kind of funny (at least with our humor) because of how blunt it is, especially considering how long we've been together without having kids.
My DH and I are big Harry potter fans and we're telling our family's by having our oldest niece on both sides crack an egg open that looks like a snitch with a message inside they can read to the whole fam!

I think that's great!
I love all the announcements also, but they are so not me or my partner. However, pre-baby I was a big wine drinker. So I got wine with a customized label and named it Preggo Vino. I was also going to put a tag on it that says don't open till October 2015.
This is what we were thinking for a Facebook post. Close friends and family already know. It will go along with the usual Happy Easter post... Might get rid of "II" I was thinking 2nd baby, but don't want people to think 2 babies
My only other ideas involved wine glasses with sad cans of ginger ale on them or a Dunks iced coffee cup with decaf checked and the statement "This can only mean one thing.."
Kindred spirits!
PS- I took my pregnancy test before cracking into a big bottle of wine one Friday night, I still have the bottle waiting for October :-)
Here's mine! Taken earlier today at my best friend's (left) gender reveal party! (My pink shirt was wrong haha!) I had to stuff my face/chug lemonade to achieve that blump though!
leah665 and mkross123, LOVE IT! I hadn't been drinking much while ttc, but a few weeks ago, I'd had a long week and felt like getting a bit tipsy on a Friday night. I was all set to pour the wine, and had a little voice in my head, "You know, you have a cheapie pregnancy test in the bathroom, why not take it really quick before diving in". Sure enough! Luckily, my husband didn't have a problem polishing off the wine for me. :P
I love the announcements with all the kiddos! So sweet! This is our first and we were going to announce on Easter but I couldn't wait after the pictures were taken!
I'm so excited to announce! We just had our 12 week scan and finally feel comfortable enough to tell. We are planning to announce easter weekend (I'll be 13 weeks)
This was ours, we let the cat out of the bag early, I was 7 weeks on Valentine's day. This is our little tubal reversal miracle and we were both too excited to keep it under wraps after a month. Plus I started to get so sick, there was no keeping it secret
It read: Roses are red, Violets are blue, Cupid's been busy cause there's a baby due! Happy Valentine's day! Baby Overturf coming October 2015!
@JaqiDec04 where did you get the shirt for your daughter?? So cute, I'm looking for something like that for my stepdaughter Haven't been able to find quite the right one yet.
@VioletandRose - I made it myself. I have an embroidery machine. I'm sure you could find one on ETSY
We told my husband's mother on her birthday. We sent a floral arrangement of a puppy popping out of a ceramic gift box (she loves dogs). She thought it was just a birthday gift until she read the card and found the real surprise. We signed the card from me, my husband, and baby.

Kindred spirits indeed! I bought a bottle of wine the day before I took my pregnancy test and now it's sitting in my wine rack untouched...
