Pregnant after a Loss

What can you smell with your Super Pregnant Nose??

I have never been able to notice it before, but now it's overwhelming.  The freaking litter box is killing me.  It's all I can smell anywhere in the house.  And it doesn't smell like poop, it reeks of urine, and it feels like it's burning off my nose hairs.  And DH just changed it this morning!!

That's one of the signs I knew I was pregnant before the test confirmed it.  I usually have a very ordinary nose, but the same thing happened with DD where I could smell everything so clearly.  Good when it's a good smell, like men's cologne.  Bad when it's...well...pee.  Gross

So can any of you smell anything with you Super Sensitive Nose??

  • The smell of my deoderant was bothering me today as I was sitting at my desk.  The bathroom at work after they clean it.  Oh, and DH got me roses last week and I could smell them from the next room.  It was crazy.

  • Before pg I couldn't smell anything. I've had a lot of problems over the years with my nose and sinuses. Anyways, since I got pregnant my nose is smelling all sorts of things. The other day dh opened a beer about 10 feet from me and I could smell it when he poured it into a glass. Also my dogs have gotten a lot more baths lately b/c they smell to me. Dh says they smell fine but to me they don't.

  • Haha, my roommates used to make fun of me when I was pregnant with DD.  I would walk into the apartment and know instantly that somebody had McDonald's.  And one time I even guessed it was a cheeseburger and I was right.

Haha, Honeybee, it's not even like you can get away from your own deoderant!  That's rough!

  • I feel like I can smell everything more.  DH had a beer after work one day and I could smell it on him hours later. He was shocked!
  • I still can't stand the bread aisle at the the grocery store. I usually have to make DH get the bread when we are out.
  • We went to New Orleans last week and the smell on Burboun Street about killed me.  It was terrible.

  • I really havent been tooo sensitive....some certain food every once in awhile bother me...

  • Car fumes/exhaust are lethal to me now. And I can smell food hours later. We have a fryer and DH made some fries and I had to leave the fan on for hours to try to get the smell out.

I think my most impressive one was when I walked in the room and told DH what kind of gum he was chewing. He was kinda freaked out by that one.

What's funniest to me though is that my nose is stuffed up - like I can sniffle at will. And I can still smell every.little.thing!

  • Yes, car fumes, I knew I was forgetting something!  Especially driving behind an old truck or something.  Gag!
  • I cannot stand the yeasty smell of bread toasting. UGH!

  • People who've been drinking, even just a little, all smell like raging alcoholics! It's AWFUL, especially b/c my family is all about cocktail hour.

My own deoderant has been bothering me too

  • friggin pretzels smell SO STRONG...what is up with that!
  • It seems like a lot of us have Super Noses!  And I agree with you about car exhaust--ewwww!!
  • The nasty grease smell of the restaurant in my building (see post below) and fried foods.  Gross.  And the metro train that I take  every day has started to smell even nastier than normal!
