How are you telling everyone?

I have been looking up cute ways to tell our families we are expecting. I think I found the way I am going to do it. I am going to buy kids books and on the inside cover I am going to write.. Please read to me in October (or November if I'm late) love baby...... How about you guys?

I made a double picture to post on Facebook that had our due date on one side and one of the sonogram pictures on the other. We had already told my parents and dh texted his dad (they aren't close and his mom passed last year). There really wasn't anyone else to tell in person which is why we opted to go the Facebook route.

I've sent close family/friends a plastic easter egg with a picture of the sonogram inside saying "Hi, I'll be hatching in October 2015! Love Baby E." I also announced at a party for my husband's 30th bday as I was making a speech I turned to him and said "And come October, I know you'll make a really great dad" People flipped! It was great.

My husband and I met in college, and my father-in-law has a pretty beaten up baseball hat with our college's logo on it. We stopped in the campus store to get him a new one, and also bought a onesie that we rolled up and stuck inside the hat. It was great watching him and my mother-in-law hold up the onesie in total confusion, and seeing their faces change as they realized why we got them the onesie!

For my family, I haven't decided (we're visiting them this weekend), but I really like the idea of doing a group photo where you say "cheese" and then say "we're having a baby" and getting a photo with everyone's reaction!

We've already told close friends and family but we are announcing on FB on Easter Sunday. I have a little picture that says "We're Egg-Specting" and then the due date.

I had some photographs to give to my parents, so I hid my ultrasound pictures at the bottom of the pile and waited for them to get through the rest.

I saw my extended family later the same day, so I just waited for opportunities to slip the news casually into my conversations:
"Are you going to so and so's wedding?"
"Well...I'd love to, but the thing is I will have just had a baby..."
Etc.

We told our family and close friends but are announcing on Facebook on Easter. We took a really cute picture. I got an Easter basket and some styrofoam pastel eggs that are speckled and used my cricut to cut baby (our last name) out of vinyl. I also did a moustache ? And a bow an arranged them in the basket I also cut a chick out of the vinyl and wrote the due date in chalk marker and that's sticking out of the basket on a piece of wire.

My stepmothers birthday is the day of my 12w scan so I bought a babygro which says 'nannas little angel' which I'm going to wrap in a posh box with a copy of the scan photo. They've been badgering me for years to have a baby... Most of DH family live hours away so will call them. And then Facebook will be some sort of announcement which make people guess a little... Not sure exactly how yet!

That's such a cute idea!!

I've mostly just been blurting it out so far, but I'm planning an "I'm pregnant!" reaction photo with my girlfriends this weekend.

My mom and I worked out a scheme to tell some extended family at Easter by writing a short message, like "Some BUNNY'S coming October 5, 2015" and splitting it out into plastic Easter eggs for them to open one at a time, ending with my Grandma reading out the due date.

I got all of my girlfriends from high school together at a Mexican restaurant. I had the waiter take a video of all of us (pretending to take a picture) and I said "everybody say...Jennifer's pregnant!" They were all shocked and excited after they got it. The thing is, the waiter didn't push the record button so it wasn't even recorded. He didn't even know what he was doing. Guess I should have gotten someone else to do that important part lol. At least I was able to see their reactions. There were 10 of us there.

We found out 2 weeks before our wedding, so we had a sign made for my step son to hold for the photographer. We told close family already and will announce it on Facebook on Easter! I will also be adopting my husbands son so I don't have to call him my step son! I'm not sure which life event I'm more excited about!!

Love all the ideas. I'm doing a similar "grandparents box" with the Mercer Mayer book Grandma, Grandpa, and Me with a rattle and note from baby for his dad and stepmom. My mom will be getting a mini picture frame with an ultrasound pic. We've got a family gathering next week and I'm thinking about wearing a shirt I just got that says "this girl's gonna be a mommy" to let everyone else know.

We did this with our first with a sonogram pic. My parent loved it and cried. It's a great idea!
