Re: Temporary nick names??

  • Before we picked our name he was 'baby k' or 'baby 'our last name' or 'nameless'

  • When I told DD (about 21 mo at the time) about the baby she said she wanted it and I told her she had to wait until August. After this happened a few times she just started pointing to my belly and saying "baby Auggie" so now we all call the baby that. I'm sure it will take her a bit to get adjusted to our team green baby's real name when s/he finally gets here but it's okay. Right now it's cute enough to be worth it bc she talks about Baby Auggie all the time!

  • Before we picked out the names, I was referring to the baby as "He has must be named"   I like Harry Potter :) Now since we have names and are just waiting to find out the gender, we just randomly use he or she

  • My husband jokes that boy or girl we should name the baby "David Bowie" after his favorite musician. So for now, it's "Bowie". Kinda growing on me
  • My family calls it emcode since my names Emily and my SOs name is Cody
  • We originally were calling the baby Tater (as in tater tot) and it's adorable when our toddler asks about baby Tater.  We've recently picked out our boy and girl names and coincidentally they have the same initials "AR".  My husband thinks that's awesome and has been calling the baby AR...not sure I'm a fan of referring to the baby as the same initials as "Assault Rifle" though...
  • Before we picked out a name he was my little nugget then we decided on Tanner so now I call him my little T man!
  • We still don't know the gender so we call the baby Pat like the SNL character...
  • Before we found out the baby's gender we were calling him bro-Russell. It was back when my Ovia app said the baby was the size of a brussel sprout. That and my husband has been set on having a boy this whole time so I'm glad his nick name worked out haha. I would hate to tell a girl that we nick named her that
  • I kept calling the baby "him" or "Will" because I swore it was a boy.  Now that we know it's a girl, she goes by "Em" or her name "Emma".  My DD (she's 2) calls her "baby Emma".

    Cody Lane - 4/22/2004
    Colten James - 9/9/2005

    Isabella Ann - 7/20/2012

    SURPRISE!!!  Emma Leigh - due 8/27/2015 (c-section date 8/7/2015)

  • My SO last name is gold so we have all been referring to the baby as "Baby Gold" lol...I love it.
Always hold on to hope ❤
  • Ever since our first ultrasound, we've been calling him Jellybean. He looked like one at first and back then we didn't know the gender/have a name picked. =]
  • My husband and I have a last name of hurley bell. We call each other hurley bears. Sometimes bandit bears. We even have matching bandit bear tattoos. But almost ever version of our pet names involves bears. So the little one has been called a cub ever since we found out. Cubby is the nickname that stuck. Still call him often even though we have a name. It might just stick. My family has been waiting to pick out an Indian name for the cub. Even they know it's going to have to be bear related because he's a little bear cub.

My husband and I always called our unborn child Sally, even before I was ever pregnant. My husband was so convinced it was going to be a girl (we are having a boy) it was always just Sally, still kinda a habit to call him that... I'm sure he is going to love that story when he is older.haha.
  • We've been using Chickpea. We were watching Parks & Rec right after we found out I'm pregnant and Anne and Chris were trying to pick out a nickname for third baby... Anne proposed peanut and Chris said they have too much sodium and countered with Chickpea. And I liked it, so it stuck. Of course we haven't been able to eat chickpeas since then :)
  • We called ours baby iggy.

We called ours Pip before we found out and named him.
  • I call baby a 'little widget'. It's because I call my daughter a widget all the time lol
  • My husband is french and he calls him crevette which litterally means shrimp. Aparently it's a cute nickname for a very small child ! Fun !
  • Usually just call her "baby G" for our last initial. Sometimes "squish"

  • We are calling him "Billy" idk why but i like the name cuz it sounds funny to me....now i think my husband may consider William for the babys real name

My side of the family and I are all calling our baby "Peanut," and DH and his family (nerdier than my family by a long shot) are calling it "Padawan." DH is convinced it's a boy, and most of my family are sure it's a girl. We're team green, so we won't find out until baby makes it's grand entrance :)
  • Before we found out the gender, we always said "baby".  Now it's "baby girl".  Occasionally hubby will refer to her by the name he prefers, even though we haven't officially decided on a name...he thinks that if he just keeps repeating his favorite, I'll agree!
  • We also call the baby nugget or Nugz for short :/) I love it. We God willing find out gender tomorrow so we will see

  • @ShondaJo check out the books "I Love You Mommy" and "I Love You Daddy". They are bears and they are really cute!
  • Our last name is Pabey and it rhymes with baby, so its Baby Pabey. How ironic lol we love it
  • These are great. We are a weird family (I promise, if you knew us, you would think so). My son (6) is obsessed with the size of the babies. He thought the week that they were kumquats was the absolute funniest. We even had to go to the fancy grocery store to find a kumquat to see how big it was. Our kids names all start with K, so my husband calls the babies "The Kumquats," asking me daily how the kumquats are doing.

My brother decided that they would be known as Kit and Kaboodle (again with the K's....) I like that so much, I am considering Kit (not Kaboodle) as one of their middle names.
  • We've been calling ours the wombat. I sent my
Husband something I saw about wombats when I was about 10 weeks, and he said "it's not nice to call the baby a womb-bat, that's just where he lives right now! It stuck after that (even though it's a bit weird!).
  • We're calling our baby girl "love bug." it'll probably stick the rest of her life. Haha
  • G Bear because baby looked like a gummy bear in the first u/s pics.

  • We call our's seahorse. During the first pic, the legs made a perfect seahorse shape and that's the first thing you notice. Such an adorable seahorse at that!

Edited for picture fail. So I'll just add...

    And active!

During our last pregnancy, we called the baby Roo. Even DH's friends referred to the baby that way. Once we found out she was a girl, we started calling her by her nickname, Maggie. Everyone else pretty much called her Roo still, though.

We also usually use whatever the fruit of the week is. So I'll say "banana seahorse". Our little love bug is still used sometimes as well.

This is why we call him our seahorse!
  • We call baby girl "Coconut". I don't even remember how it started, but it stuck. :)
  • Since me and my hubby don't know the gender yet, we call our baby our little duckling :)
  • We have been calling it nugget (which my father picked up).  Between me and the boyfriend though, we call the baby "baby bear" or "baby kitten" because my nickname is kitten and his is bear.
  • We call our baby Peanut or Peanut Butter Cup
