$1000 stroller! Hell no.

Re: $1000 stroller! Hell no.

  • I live in the city and have a basic old graco that came w a car seat and it has worked just fine. To each their own but you don't need a 1k stroller because you live in the city. Geesh.
Ps. I would rather my kid has their college fund fully funded and money for babysitting.
I also think that first time moms get really wrapped up in this stuff. I know w my son I was looking at 1k cribs but baby two won't get anything like that because I now know it's not worth it
Pps. The BoB is worth it and has high resale value .

  • I've been considering if it's worth the money to buy the Uppababy vista, or stick to a lesser expensive stroller. One major consideration for me is to not but a running stroller and a regular stroller. I just don't want to have 2. I have enough junk. Another consideration is that you can sell more expensive items on ebay and recoup some money. I also like the idea of having my car seat fit in my stroller. I just don't know if it's all worth it as I don't see myself using a stroller very often because I don't like bulky cumbersome things. I will be wearing my baby most often.
  • If we lived in a city I would absolutely spring for a bugaboo! But we are lucky to have jobs that allow us to afford that
  • Our son hated the stroller we spent money on last time. He was much happier in a wrap I made for $10 from some jersey knit from Walmart. We're planning to wear our new baby often and skip the stroller..... So now I have a new problem!! THE TULA WRAP I REALLY LIKE IS OVER $200!!!! for a baby wrap! It's insane!! But I really want it... Arg!
Seriously- to each her own... No judgement at all. Xoxo to all you mamas.
  • As another poster said, it's all relative. I live in a city (one that doesn't have an affinity for elevators or escalators!) and will be spending a little more on a stroller because I already don't have patience when I'm on my own two feet! (I want something that has been described here as a "Dream" to operate! ) But because we live in a city and in a loft-style apartment, at the moment we won't be springing for the themed baby room, simply because we don't have an extra room to give or the time to house hunt before September. So there's our 900 euros going to something else! Again, it's all relative.

I showed this to my hubby saying that I would never spend that much, and he loves it & told me to consider it! Touché!

Also, the same stroller in blue is $200 cheaper at $899... WTF?

The blue is an older color which is why it is cheaper.

Something that I found useful when buying baby gear is checking out Buy Buy Baby. They accept both Buy Buy Baby and Bed Bath and Beyond coupons, but there are typically more exclusions on Buy Buy Baby coupons. For example, when I purchased this stroller Stokke was excluded on Buy Buy Baby coupons but not on Bed Bath and Beyond coupons so I used a Bed Bath and Beyond coupon and got 20% off. I think it was the same with Orbit and Buggaboo at the time too. Exclusions can often vary even within Bed Bath and Beyond coupons so definitely look through your coupons before making big baby gear purchases!

You aren't just lucky, I bet you guys work hard! I don't feel bad about being able to afford things. That's part of the reason I work in the first place. But mostly because we travel a lot. I was drooling over the bugaboo as a FTM.

Guess I'm crazy, I'll be purchasing an orbit system that's a little over 1k. Different parents differnt perogatives!

Yes I'm crazy as well but that dammed baby orbit G3 is amazing! lol I was telling my gf about it who is pregnant as well and at first she was like "1k!!!" But then she looked it up and was like I want one too! Lol this is my second baby and I'm excited and We are able to buy baby what we want this time around so to each his own!! But hell yes, it's definitely expensive but to me it will be worth it.
