  • CONGRATS!!!!!!!  Welcome to the groups LOs!  How are they doing?  Any issues with being 7 weeks early?  They are beautiful
  • Congrats. We are so close in delivery. I gave birth a week ago to my twins 3-14-15. They were 33 weeks 1 day. Ashley Emilia was 4.7 lbs and Luke Thomas was 5.2. I developed preeclampsia and have to deliver them in a hurry then had some complications after delivery with fluid in my lungs from ivs and the magnesium sulfate used to prevent seizures. So I was pretty out of it for days. Got released Wednesday. Babies are doing well but will still be in NICU for awhile due to age. Although they are both ahead of schedule for their anticipated progress.
  • Congrats @mstarr222! Hoping all goes well and you get to take your babes home as soon as possible

Congrats to you @Ndracer also. Babies also look great and wishing you all well.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes and support. I've been discharged and still recovering from surgery. The babies are working hard to grow in the NICU. It's such a mix of emotions to finally have my babies and seeing them in all their beauty and the difficulty of having to see them go through procedures in the NICU instead of coming home with us. But daddy has been my everything so in time we will all be home together cuddling safely :)

So far both babies have been on and now off (yay!) c-pap to help them get air. They both have had PIC lines put in their arms for an IV so the doctors don't have to keep pricking them in a vein everyday. They tried an umbilical prick first but it didn't go in the right vein for either baby. They also need temperature regulation and lights for jaundice. But Jax has taken milk from the bottle in addition to his feeding tube and is doing better with it every day. I also got to do kangaroo contact with him yesterday which was amazing. Violet is still working on being able to digest food but will catch up soon <3@Ndracer @icajesica82
  • @Ndracer how are your twins doing? They are so gorgeous! Would you give me a brief on what they have needed and how they're doing please??

They are doing pretty well. They both were breathing room air from birth. Luke has some feeding and sleep apnea issues but he has started to resolve them on his own. Freaked me out first time he had one when I was holding him. I know it's normal but still
Scary. Both had jaundice but it wasn't bad enough for lights. They had trouble with temp regulation at first but both have been moved to open cribs now. Ashley is a tough one and has the least amount of issues. They increased her feedings though and she started regurgitating some so they backed back down. Both have feeding tubes down noses which I hate but they both struggled with the sucking. Although there starting to get the hang of it. But they tire out easily and lose interest in eating. So sometimes we still have to use the tube. We have just started introducing them to the Breast. Not super easy but got them both to take it and suckle just a bit. Nurses assure me they will improve and I guess it's just about 34-36 weeks when babies learn to suck.

Hope you are doing well. It's sure an emotional roller coaster. The second night I was in hospital I just about lost it. First night I guess I was still drugged up. But the second it hit me. To go from being pregnant and feeling them all the time to not being pregnant, not having them right there and my husband being at home. Ugh I was going crazy. Called my hubby and he came back to the hospital at like 10 pm to help me get through the night. At least my hospital was great and gave me a private room at the end of the floor to try and keep me from hearing the other babies.
  • Many blessings!!!!
    For this Child I prayed...<3
