Curiousity Got The Best Of Me

I started asking my MIL about my husband's measurements as a newborn. I always knew that large head circumfrances ran on his side of the family... I just didn't know how severely until tonight.

His head circumfrance at birth was 37.5 cm... The average for a newborn, from what google has told me, is 35 cm, with it at about 38 cm at a month old.

Help me.

Has anyone else's curiousity lead them to a point where they wished they had never asked?

Re: Curiousity Got The Best Of Me

  • Not so much out of my curiosity, but I'm tired of people telling me about their experiences and how awful labor was. My MIL loves to talk about how my husband was born over 9 pounds and had teeth and a full set of hair. Is this really necessary to freak me out?

Glad my MIL is good at keeping info to herself, unless I ask. I am definitely not fond of the unnecessary freak outs.
  • My daughter was doomed to have a big head. Both her dad and I are "blessed" in that area. The birth was not bad after the epi, I did have a 2nd degree tear. She came into the world with a head in the 95th percentile, and weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces and 22 inches. She is my tall big headed baby... well now 7 year old.
  • My husband was a c section because of how big his head was.

Doesn't bother me. I gave birth to our son vaginally. Yes, he was a preemie but had a big head.

Now with our daughter, her head is already engaged. I think/hope I can do it again.
