I offically quit...

Re: I offically quit...

  • I quit:
    1. Bras. Yeah screw those. They were making it hard to breathe before baby dropped, now I'm just too lazy.
    2. Shoes in general.
    3. Getting out of bed. (Not really, but I wish.)
    4. Makeup. I don't care anymore.
    5. Pants. When I'm home I don't wear pants anymore. Only undies.
    6. Anything that requires me to bend down. I make other people pick up stuff for me. >:)

I quit parenting for the night. My 3.5yr old dropped an F bomb and then lied about it to my face when I asked her. It was hard not to laugh but I had to go into mom mode and send her to bed without our extra snuggles as she knows better. I usually lay with her and snuggle until she falls asleep (My choice, not hers. She can fall asleep without me just fine). My heart hurts because I could hear her quietly sobbing in her bed.

That part of parenting sucks. I swear everytime my kids are in trouble/grounded I feel horriable and feel like I am too. We just love them so much!
  • I quit shaving unless absolutely necessary, any and all pants except yoga pants, picking things up, unpacking baby shower gifts, being patient with other humans, answering dumb questions, wearing socks because my ankles are swollen, blow drying my hair--the list goes on...
  • Like so many others I have quit cleaning, washing clothes and cooking. My husbad has taken on all of those duties. Honestly, I love to cook and haven't let anyone do my laundry since high school (exception of dry cleaners) so it was hard to trust that he wouldn't damage my clothes. With cooking, I was worried that he wouldn't prepare the food properly. Well, now I am spoiled rotten. It turns out he is a pretty good cook and knows how to wash clothes properly. Nothing ruined yet. So thankful for him.
  • Well, that's amusing, I posted on this and it's been deleted ...
  • You didn't get banned this time, @cloudedskies? Glad you're still with us (however temporary).
  • Please someone tell me what DH means i mean clearly its along the lines of the babys dad but its driving me crazy not knowing the h part
  • @kayla2412 It means dear husband/darling husband

@MommaBre2007 You can cross your legs!???!! I'm jealous!!
  • I quit picking up what I drop. I quit acting like I can do all the housework even though I can't bend. I quit wearing anything but my underarmour slip on sandals. I quit being ok with being sopping wet all day everyday cause of discharge, mucus plug, and pee seepage- sorry for the ymi on the last one but I just can't anymore. I'm tired of constantly feeling wet and gross.
  • Totally just living in my Nike shorts now! Can't not shave though. Too OCD for that also, I would go nuts! But other than that, my temper is through the roof & this hair? Forever up in a nappy bun... Gave up on NOT looking like a slob. It doesn't work...
  • All I wear are my maternity leggings. And I cannot see to shave my lady parts, but I still try every so often and I know it must look terrible. Seriously contemplating waxing. I haven't been able to quit many other things too Type A about everything getting done, house being clean, etc.
  • I quit leaving my house. Period. Lol. Me and baby girl (10 months old) just stay at home and hang out. Patiently waiting on baby brother. (36 weeks)
  • @kjuryfl Seriously just died laughing! Whack him. I am all for it! I've made mine sleep in the guest room a few times (when the snores are too bad).
  • I totally thought I would be, major disappointment .. @meghanjodino
  • I wish I could quit!! We just signed on a house yesterday so I've been having to run around my rental like a crazy lady packing so we can get moved and situated before this little boy comes out. I did quit jeans a little while ago. I take them out every now and then acting like I want to look nice and make it about an hour before I'm looking for the maternity leggings or DHs basketball shorts! I'm thinking about quitting being a dog owner! Haha they don't seem to realize I'm now officially huge and don't want to share the bed with them anymore!
  • @kjuryfl I want to quit the same thing. Actually I did quit being nice. I sleep on the couch right now because he is working. But AS SOON AS BABY GETS HERE...his azz is on the couch!!! I'm so frustrated because he already started seeing a doctor and have not done the sleep study required to get a script for a cpap. At our old place he had slept on the couch for two months before we moved. I'M OVER IT!!
  • I quit jeans for sure! And shoes. Most of them are thrown in a corner. I quit picking up things and bending over, which basically was my job so I quit that too. Well for now.
  • I love reading these post it makes me feel less self conscious....
But i quit wearing make up at like 15 weeks pregnant lol
I quit brushing my hair months ago i just put it in a bun
I havnt worn jeans since i started showing the maternity jeans i have to constantly pull up
I quit shaving my legs as much along with sex i hate sex now days!
I quit shaving my lady parts?? Kinda this is new the problem is i officially cant see it so when i try to shave its patchy and i get really bad razor burn!

  • I quit everything OP said - plus I quit caring when I burp or fart in front of people. For real, I can't help it. And I don't care about the shaving, either. There's no way in hell I am getting waxed...doctor can just deal. I do my best to put on my makeup and jewelry every day to offset the yoga pants and tennis shoes. And one more week until I quit work for 2 months. I can't wait.
  • How many days you have? I'm going nuts 22 days seem like forever!
  • I gave up makeup at 6 weeks.
I gave up blow drying my hair at 10 weeks.
I gave up regular pants at 12 weeks.
I gave up sleeping through the night at 26 weeks (not by choice! )
I gave up trimming Down There at 28 weeks.
I gave up everything but very light housework at 30 weeks. I also gave up on maternity jeans. Thank god for yoga pants !
I gave up sex and shaving at 32 weeks.
I gave up caring about work 3 weeks ago, and hopefully I will give up working next week.

I am SO glad I'm not the only one who's gone through all of these things!
  • I gave up only a few things:

Wearing contact lenses. They betrayed me and one ripped while in my eye so it's glasses from now on!

Trying to be nice to the dog. He's tried to kill me a few times already so after he ran out in front of me, tripped me, then pissed on me when I was down I gave up on being his friend.

Moving. We've moved twice this pregnancy (the first time was because the house we were renting was unsafe) and I don't care what's not unpacked anymore.

Sleeping next to DH. I sleep better on the sofa because it supports my back and my pillows don't fly all over. No more leg cramps!

I want to quit grocery shopping really bad, but when I send DH to the store I get 37589521 phone calls to confirm what I meant when I wrote simple things such as "bread" on the list. I'm better off doing that on my own.

Trying to cut my toe nails and putting on my own socks. I should treat myself to a pedicure so I don't make any more holes in my socks.

I invested early on in a pair of slip on Sketchers with memory foam liners in them. I have no problems with shoes and wear my trusty slippers while around the house.

At 36 weeks, I discovered yesterday that I'm carrying a 7lb (estimated) "critter", which is not surprising because my youngest was almost 9lbs and 23inches at birth. I've had cesarean deliveries with both of my girls and will have one with little man too, so my days of not quitting are few. Just trying to hang on to my humanity as long as possible since I won't have my body back for at least another year and a half or so until I wean from breastfeeding #:-S
  • For me, shaving legs and pits havent completely stopped, its just sorta become a once every week and half type thing. More than anything I just dont want to go into labor and have man fur legs. Lady parts? lol. Freakin forget it man, aint nobody got time for that anymore.

My feet havent swollen, however tying my shoes has become akin to climbing Everest. So now I just do flipflops or slip on boots.

If I drop something on the ground, that object has become dead to me.

I only wear normal clothes if I absolutely have to, but most days its pajama pants and a tshirt or hoodie. I find that my current clothing style is pretty similar to when I was having lazy days in college.

I try to walk whenever I can, but in truth, if I am somewhere that requires a lot of walking and I know I'll be there a long while (walmart, home depot, etc.). I will straight up and without shame use one of those electric scooter carts now. My baby is super low and if I walk around too much I feel like someone is attacking me in the crotch with a crowbar.

Sleeping has been hard, if not impossible some nights. On top of being huge and uncomfortable, my DH has started snoring like a freight train every night. And while I was a couple months ago able to just softly nudge him and lovingly ask him to flip over. I now transform into a very angry Samuel L Jackson everytime it happens.
  • I haven't quit much yet, due in a week. I'm still wearing make up, blow drying my hair and shaving at least the bottom part of my legs and pits. I stopped make up, hair and everything with my DD and felt like crap/lost my identity for a while (sunk into the comforts of the "mommy role"). I have never liked jeans so I have done the leggings/sundresses pretty much my entire pregnancy. No heels and no shaving parts I can't see! I let my 4 yo paint my toes so at least when I'm in labor I can look down at my feet and smile thinking of her and the rainbow at the end of labor!

I love your attitude! So optimistic and real. I am the exact way :) Still trying to look presentable and maintain normal care. I love the idea of letting my daughter paint my nails in preparation for labor! She asks me weekly for pretty toes so maybe we can do matching toes/fingers as one last mother daughter bonding moment before baby brother arrives.

  • @kjuryfl I also found a place that had kid size pedicure chairs and we got side by side pedicures and manicures as a special treat! I just let her do the painting when we got home! We also had a movie/sleepover night in my bed last night. I just wanted her to feel special before her baby brother comes home and steals a lot of my attention!

I know this post is a little older. But I quit the hair dryer about 3 weeks ago. It is a machine intended to cause sweating in every place of your body and I believe it was created by the devil. Wet hair + hair tie= done.
