1st Trimester

When did you start with morning sickness?

Hi Guys!  Found out I was preggo last week.  Other than fatigue, light mild cramping and emotional changes, I rarely feel any nausea.  I think last time around it came around 6 weeks, but trying to get opinions on when it might strike.  When did it strike you?

  • I was sick the from 6-16 weeks last time.  Its just hard to remember exact feelings from last time.  I dont think I am a pasta sauce :).

  • 17 weeks now and I've had zero nausea or fatigue. Every woman and pregnancy is different.

  • I got sick around 6 weeks and lasted to about 10 weeks, then it's been off an on since.
  • Wow, some serious ladies in this group.  Preggo, preggers, what's the harm in a shortened, fun version of the word pregnant?  Geez lighten up.
    It sounds dumb.

I agree with @ladycersei.  It sounds dumb, and it grosses me out. Prego sauce is nasty. Ew.
  • Luckily I have not had nausea and I'm 10 weeks and 2 days. Well actually, I only get a little nausea when I'm starving, but as soon as I eat it goes away. I do get tired a lot though. Every person is different, so maybe you wont get any nausea either. Fingers crossed :)
  • No morning sickness, I guess it doesn't run in my family. I just get really tired and eat too much.

  • Mine started around 4 weeks and has just intensified ever since. Y'all sans nausea ladies are lucky!

  • Started feeling nausea few days after my egg was fertilized... i work in a hospital and felt really nauseous so of course doctor in emergancy noticed i ddnt look well and tested my blood and just like that i found out i was not even week pregnant.
  • Week 8 but the nausea usually passes within several minutes.

  • I'm almost 7 weeks and I've not had it yet. Everyone has told me that it's coming so I guess we'll see
  • There is a hormonal surge around 8 weeks, which makes it common for some women to either get morning sickness or for it to intensify.

I normally start vomiting between 7 and 8 weeks. With waves of nausea before then.

But, as pp said, every woman is different, and although my 3 previous pregnancies have followed the same pattern, every pregnancy can be different.

I am 6 weeks 4 days and just starting to get VERY mild nausea. I will feel like blek for maybe a couple of minutes and then it passes. Weird. At times though, other than the sore boobs and fatigue - I don't even feel pregnant! Or preggo! Whatever you want to call it! :)

  • I never got any morning sickness, just some nausea between weeks 6-11. My mom was sick every single day with both of her pregnancies. Everyone is different.

  • my nausea started about a week and a half after we conceived. It was slight nausea every morning and I drank some ginger ale and ate crackers to help it. It lasted until week 11. I never threw up.
  • I'm 7 weeks and haven't experianced any morning sickness yet, best of luck to you!
  • I'm 8 weeks and have definitely started feeling way more nauseous in the past few days.  But like others have said, every pregnancy is different so you never know.  Good luck!
  • I'm 22 weeks and I haven't gotten morning sickness yet. I lost my appetite during the first trimester, but that was it. I'm one of the lucky ones.

  • Just found out yesterday I am almost 5 weeks pregnant no morning sickness yet...I am not looking forward to that part of being pregnant
  • With my first, it started at 7.5 weeks on the dot. I'm guessing the second was around the same time frame, but I don't recall. This one, I'm 6 or so weeks along and starting to get those twinges of nausea in the morning, just waiting for it to set in and kick my ass.
Pregnant with #3, after thee, three's complete!!
  • Week 6! Mostly subsided by week 12.
  • Started week 6 for me. I'm in week 9 now. I have not thrown up though. Mainly nauseated but I only felt so about 5 times.
  • I'm in the 2nd trimester and still never really got nauseated. I consider myself lucky so far. I joked with my DH that if pregnancy is this easy then I can do this many more times!
  • Mine started three days ago, and seems to get worse each day. I'm 7 weeks tomorrow.
  • Why does it matter when I felt sick?  Every pregnancy is different.
  • 7 weeks about, this is horrible ! :-&
  • Started at 5.5wks. I'm going on 9wks now. It's day by day. Wk 6 & 7 were the worst. Hoping it keeps getting better from here. The morning and evenings are the worst. Nausea and no appetite, yet I'm starving. Terrible heartburn and very fatigued.

  • I'm 9w4d and I've been nauseous on and off throughout but just recently this past week ive sgtarted actually vomiting .. only in the evenings though which is better for me bc I work early mornings lol
  • I've had MS since I was 4 weeks, at that time though we thought it was the flu. It wasn't until it didn't go away for about a week that I started thinking it could just be MS. I'm now 9 weeks and it has yet to go away.
  • I look to these boards to gain information other than from a Dr. I like also learning real life experience but people are so catty and rude it's discouraging. If u don't like the topic- MOVE ON to the next one. The need to show ur ignorance is distasteful. Most of us women here are here to support each other. Not be a smart mouth, although dumb wld be a better word.

Anyway, every pregnancy is different, but I keep hearing closer to 6weeks. For my middle daughter I didn't have any nausea at all :)
  • I am 6w2d and for about the last week I would say my food aversions started. If i think about food other than fruit I feel so nauseous and then usually at night i feel blah
  • sometime between 6 to 7 weeks. 8th week was the worst for me. On my 9th week and its been on and off.
  • I had nausea before I missed my period. This is also my third pregnancy.
  • I am 4 weeks 6 days and I started with morning sickness yesterday.
