Re: What's Everyone's Professions???

  • I work in Higher Education as a Program Coordinator for the Financial Aid office.

I have the worst morning sickness (really afternoon & evening sickness) so I just try to snack every few hours and keep ginger candy close by.

  • I'm an accountant in the entertainment industry. I've been really sleepy lately. I think i dozed off for a couple of minutes during a meeting yesterday, but no one noticed, or at least no one mentioned it. I have also been a little nauseous so I've been avoiding lunch meetings/gatherings with co-workers.
  • I'm a bank teller supervisor and account opener/closer at the bank. Thankfully lately (within the last week) my nausea has dwindled, I still cant eat like before. My EDD is 10/10/15
  • Corp Lawyer. Looking to move out of NYC after the baby arrives and slow down a bit. Exhausted!
  • I work at a hotel as a group housing supervisor. It's pretty much a lot of data entry and problem solving. Luckily a desk job because I'm exhausted and can eat whenever I need! And Monday through Friday days only. I'm very thankful.
  • I'm a Client Services Manager at a TPA.  Long story short....groups hire us to do their employee insurance enrollment basically and I manage that team.

I don't ever feel nauseous but nothing ever sounds good to eat.  The only things I want to eat are Taco Bell, Taco Johns, burritos or mashed potatoes....when I'm hungry that is all that sounds good.

  • I work night shift as an EMT now and go to nursing school during the day. I graduate in May and hope to apply for my first RN job after the holidays and after as long as I can take off with our new LO.
  • I resigned from my social work career and became a stay at home mom in August.

  • I'm a birth & postpartum doula and placenta encapsulator. Hoping I can continue to take clients into my 3rd trimester, we'll see ;) Nauseous like crazy 24/7, seems worse this time around (my 2nd). Nice to 'meet' you all!
  • I'm a reception teacher (4-5 year olds). The nausea and fatigue make it even more hard going managing a class of energetic, excitable children!
  • I'm a CPA, and this time of the year is awful! Add to that the extreme nausea and exhaustion mixed with the hormones....I'm hell on wheels right now!!

  • I am an X-ray technologist. I work anywhere from 2-6 days a week. I am casual so I get to pick my shifts which helps because I have 24/7 nausea and a few vomiting spells. Eating helps and staying active. I will have a year maternity leave and then return to work after.
  • Im an Embryologist. My work is mainly research based looking at pre-implatation stage embryos. Sub fertility and epigenetic factors that may make an individual susceptable to certain illnesses later in life.
  • I'm in medical school, going to be a doctor in 2 years! This was definitely not in the plan because school is crazy and not very forgiving, but I'll manage somehow.
  • I feel the pain! I am a paramedic.  had a patient with terrible BO and spent half the transport trying not to hurl!!
  • I'm an engineer
  • I am a Physical Therapist; however, I am not actively treating patients daily. I am the Regional Vice President of Operations for my company which provides therapy primarily in skilled nursing facilities. With my first 2 pregnancies I delivered early at 32 weeks but was a treating Therapist/department manager...I am hopeful my new less strenuous position will help me keep surprise baby number 3 inside until full term! Good luck all you hard working momma's!
  • I'm a full time veterinarian. Having to remind myself daily that I shouldn't touch certain things! I was tested for toxoplasmosis and despite my years of exposure to cats, I was negative! So happy litter box scooping to my hubby :)
I haven't been to nauseous but def some smells in the clinic that make my stomach turn!
  • Emergency Medical Technician.
  • I am a visiting nurse, i usually love my job but finding it pretty difficult in this first trimester, thankfully ive only had waves of nausea through the day usually cured by a snack or some ginger ale, i think the hardest part for me is the fatigue! Thank god for my wonderful fiancee who has picked up the housework and everything else while i nape after work!
  • I'm a Medical Coder for the teaching hospitals here in Denver:-) having all day nausea makes concentrating for 8 hours rough sometimes, it's nice that I work on a pretty medical campus where I can take a short walk and stretch my legs and brain occasionally!!
  • How do I get your job lol?
  • @Sasha AMV...what did you have to go through to become a mediator...I'm graduating in May with a BA in Crim Just but can't decided between just being a lawyer or becoming a mediator?
  • @Benson30 Do you like being a Corp lawyer or would choose another specialty of law?
  • High school math teacher. Ginger ale and small snacks have helped keep things manageable. I haven't announced at work yet so I'm trying to be discrete because students pick up on everything.
  • I'm a waitress for right now and currently in school full time. I will graduate in May. I'm thinking of going to law school afterwards.
  • I'm am esthetician and make-up artist. I have a 2 year old and my career allows me to stay at home with him all week because I only work weekends. I love (need) the balance. Going to work is my break time!
  • I'm a chemist, but work in the registration department (so no direct contact to dangerous chemicals) of a plant protection company.
The nausea is tough, My doctor made me stay at home until Thursday and I hope I can manage the long days at work after that...
  • I'm (or was) a dancer at a high end gentleman's club. Unfortunately I used all the money I saved paying down debt and was unexpectedly unemployed for December and January due to my diabetes and health concerns. Then I find out I'm pregnant, 2 weeks after going back to work. I feel like a failure for not having more money saved. Is anyone in a similar situation? Please reach out.
  • I'm a certified public accountant. Busy season is always tiring so I had a great cover for my exhaustion. Nausea only when I get too hungry. I eat all day but I don't think my team realizes my constant snacking is because of baby...they could just think I like food :)
  • I'm 22 an first time mommy, I work at a high class bar/lounge.. I want a new job but I only work 3 days a week now an average about 22$ a hour. But I can't fit into anything cute anymore and it's frustrating. Also the further I go it's going to get harder running all night with a big belly a sore back and fat feet.
  • Hi everyone I work for the State of NJ
  • I'm a store manager at a health foods store. We have RDs on staff as well as our executive chef, so all the meals are very "foodie" type but prepared consciously. It's really nice to know that I'm eating food sourced locally and organically and to know the correct portion sizes. What's sad is that no food is appealing to me anymore, so I don't enjoy eating like I used to, but at least it's helping me stay healthy.
  • I am a tax manager at a large accounting firm. I'm super nervous because my due date is October 26th and I typically work 80+ hours per week from August through October 15th every year. I've been at my job for about 6-7 years so I'm really hoping they cut me some slack this year!
  • I'm a speech-language pathologist who works primarily with 3-5 year olds with various disabilities. Eating snacks throughout the day helps a lot. It helps that the educational specialist who I work closely with knows and lets me store snacks in her fridge.
  • I teach high school English language arts. I currently teach on an overload, so it's an extra hour on an already long day! With DD, I was due at the beginning of labor day weekend, so I was able to be the most pregnant when it was summer break. Now I'll go back to start the school year for two months at my biggest...yikes! I'll be shifting positions next fall to half-time reading specialist for our district and half-time classroom teacher, so maybe the reading specialist portion of time won't be as physically demanding as the classroom gig is. We shall see! So far my nausea has only crept up occasionally in the morning hours and I've been able to tough it out. I'm only 7w4d, so it could very well get worse in the coming weeks! Fingers crossed for a smooth finish to the first trimester...
