If this baby is a boy we plan on naming him Wolfgang. We've had some pushback, but most people seem to like it. My biggest concern is that my Spanish speaking family will struggle with the pronunciation, but they will adapt. The kid might have do deal with being called Wooof-gang, not a big deal.
echo won't be to much of a shocker in 20 some years on his resume. I'm not totally into if but that's why my sons name will be Conner and not echo. To each their own...I like the name Drezden. I don't think your a terribly insensitive devil.
When I first read it the first thing that came to mind was Eko from the TV series Lost. I LOVED Lost, the TV show... and Eko was a cool character. It's definitely unique, and I personally think it's ok... I would just consider how it might be shortened, do you see him going by a nickname, etc.

Love Wolfgang and I do not like unique names. We almost chose that as our middle name but decided to do something more ethnic (also spanish speaking family). Went with Javier as a middle name. Great grandma can call him Javi instead of trying to pronounce first name, James.
We are going with Simon Aniello (a grandfathers name and great-grandfather's name), although my husband wanted his other grandfather's name Liberato. I convinced him otherwise since his own grandfather changed his name and my husband kept saying we could call him Libby. I love unique names, but this wasn't working for me.
My sister named her son Connor and I hated it because it was such a basic name, that 4 other kids in his class ended up having too. I think any kind of name that is unique and different makes your kid more special and not some average person.. We are naming ours Holland and my other sister just had a boy and named him Ryder!
I like unique names, But DH's family is more traditional. Currently between Rhett, Canon, Jett. Middle name will be Davis. Any opinions?
I tend to lean towards more traditional names as well. Of your choices, I like Rhett the best. It's not used a lot , but it's not super out there. I think it's a good strong name

Oh man.. I like all three! Our son will be Everett and his nickname is already "baby Rhett".. So maybe I'm a little partial to that one. But all very simple, yet unique names without trying too hard! I'm also a photographer so am drawn to Canon! Although, I shoot Nikon... Could that be in the running?? lol
For my daughter (2yrs) and my soon to be here son we didn't tell anyone the name until they arrived in the world to avoid the 'oh... That's different' looks. It's your baby name it what makes you happy. After all no one else is praising/yelling/singing that name except you.

I really like the name Rhett!! All 3 that you've listed are nice though, and flow really well with Davis so you can't go wrong! You can always wait until you see him to decide if you're really torn
We are naming our son Paxton Robert. Paxton is the middle name of all the first born men in my husband's family but we loved it so much we took it as the first name. And Robert is DH's grandfather's name, my dad's name and my brother's name. Thankfully, we've gotten good feedback for using the name Paxton but I can't honestly say we wouldn't have changed it either way bc it is our choice as his parents to decide on his name
My kids names are jesus alejandro, gabriela nicole, jovoni alexiz, and this one is gonna be xiemena luz. There was a bunch of ppl who was like "we dont like those names." I was like "well is this ur kid, umm no so i really dont care." U pick anything that u want because at the end of the day its UR kid. NOT THIERS.
If we were having a son, his first name would be of Italian origin as that is the tradition in my husband's family. As far as your choice, Echo, and a PPs choice, Dresden, I see no issue with them. In fact, I kinda like them. Honestly, no mother is trying to be insensitive when naming their child, so that argument is a bunch of BS in my opinion. There are so many tragedies in this world, every name should be off limits. Example, University of Texas in Austin was the sight of a brutal shooting in 1966....however, Austin remains a very popular name. I understand there are differences in culture and what every person finds offensive, however, it isn't fair to insult another person's intelligence because they have different views than you do.
I'm not worried about this generation filling out resumés, etc. There are many naming their children differently. Just look at all the celebrities...Apple, Pilot Inspector, Kyd. We only know about those because they are on camera, what the heck are the people a block over from you naming their kids?!
I was so excited to tell people the name we are choosing for our son (people warned me not too because of how rude family and friends can be) and boy were they right! Right to my face they would say, "oh my god, are you serious?!? You cant name your baby that! It's terrible!!" I would never say something so harsh to someone. Especially, when you know how excited they are that they chose a name. My husband and I decided we are still going to name him, Maximus Alexander Power, and everyone can shove it if they don't like it
