First false complication... whew!!!

First off, I'm high risk with a cerclage placed at 14 wks. Restricted activity, lots of resting, and being forced to work from home per doctor's orders. Thankfully, I can work from the office one day per month. Monday I went in at 7 and was trucking along, nothing crazy. Then I had some crazy sensations on my cervix, a weird movement, and A LOT of pressure. Called the doc and they told me to come in right away. I was soo uncomfortable the entire way, and freaked out my cervix had shortened and was possibly trying to dilate.

Thankfully, cervix was still long, and they couldn't see any braxton hicks. The feelings I was getting, was my son flipping into breach position, and playing soccer with my cervix. I was told to buy a maternity support belt for the pressure, cause it was only going to get worse. I made a promise to God that I wouldn't joke any longer about being ready to give birth right now. 12 more weeks, and I will do my best to keep him baking til the end.

  • Thanks ladies, I was soo scared because I lost my last son 6 years ago to an incompetent cervix. My husband had a pep talk with him that night about staying in there til at least my stitch is taken out at 36 wks.

So sorry for your previous loss! Tell your husband to keep doing those pep talks, they seem to be doing the trick :)

  • I'm so sorry but happy that you are okay!

With my twin pregnancy, I always had milestones of 32 weeks, 34 weeks, 36 weeks. It helped with my anxiety and worrying.
  • So glad everything is good!

  • So glad everything turned out okay, thats musy have been frightening. Here's to twelve more weeks of healthy, happy and uneventful pregnancy!
Also, I love @laurendutch 's idea of milestones.
  • Thank you for the support ladies. It's nice to find a place where people are supportive. Poor husband, I know he was freaked out and he is supportive, but I know he doesn't truly understand the freak out moments I have. But I love him soo much for everything he does.
